Auto insurance companies already do it.

Right... based on previous accident claims and traffic tickets... which are on the record.

Is your medical history as readily available?

I'd give worlds to know myself. Perhaps they know that the personal responsibility thing wouldn't fly.
Or that it’s easier to just blame the Democrats.

Incentives are always tricky. One hospital I know covers medications for Diabetes and Cardiac issues at 100% if the employee attends wellness coaching as advised and keeps all relevant medical appointments.

The hospital (through insurance data) identified where money could be saved by keeping people on their medication by making it affordable.

Thanks, Founders, for the Electoral College!
That's something every Republican President in the 21st century can agree with. Apparently it's the only way they can get elected.

Good luck.

I think a lot of them know this already. In fact isn't this the current situation with healthcare? I propose putting the ball in their court, just to see what happens.

It certainly is available to the insurance companies and your doctor.

Its already in their court. If someone is not healthy, their out of pocket healthcare expenses will cost thousands per year.

Money can be made by keeping people on their meds as well.
Millions are being treated for the side effects of their meds, and at great cost to the system. And just look at the opioid problem.

Sure the uninsured costs are in their court. I'm talking about their general health. For example, it has been demonstrated that type 2 diabetes can be reversed with lifestyle changes, but the problem continues to grow in spite of that fact. What's going on?

The greatness of a nation must be reflected in the character of it's people. Governments can do great and beneficent things using the taxes extracted by force from it's people, but those efforts ring hollow if the populace doesn't reflect the goodness of those efforts. The weakness or strength of the nation is the weakness or strength of the individual citizen.

So what is weak that needs strengthening? Several simple but crucial things.

Citizens must be law abiding.
Citizens must be financially responsible.
Citizens must be healthy.
Citizens must be industrious.
Citizens must be honest.
Citizens must be moral.
Citizens must be caring.
Citizens must be involved.

These qualities will make America great again.

Would you suggest we use the government to achieve anything in your list above?

Just for general education. They control what is taught. Their main goal is an educated work force. The curriculum should include knowledge that is useful for one's general well-being. This would help society at large. We know more about how to make a living than how to live. Our problem isn't the lack of productivity, it's the destructive behaviors and lifestyles we engage in after we punch out.

What is missing is enough GOP legislators with the backbone to openly say that we’re truly going to have to face this one together and work with the other side. And that will not happen as long as Donald J. Trump is the GOP standard-bearer.

Guess what? That’s where Government oversight fits.

The side effect of not taking a medication for Diabetes because you cannot afford it is what?

Well, my insurance company wanted to know if I smoked or drank (I don't) when I signed up with them -- I can only assume that my premiums would be higher if I had.

How is your "sin tax" any different?

The nation's health is not a very high priority for anyone in Washington.

A smelly red herring perhaps? ;)
