• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I seam to get mood swings in the evening and night time. I am wondering how you guys fight against these swings and help to change your mood about feeling sorry for yourself?

i don't fight them, but have learned to seek Jesus in all my different moods and save me from the bad life i find there in.

It is amazing how good it is to have Jesus helping me trough my hard times and saving me from the bad life that had hold on me there.

i learned to stop feeling sorry for myself and to praise Jesus instead and let His loving truth set me from the bad life attacking.

i found that my often depressed and confused mind believed lies about God, myself and others and that the Word of God could keep my inner reality in His truth then His love would rule me and set me free from my fears and inabilities.

Please seek Jesus to be the King of your whole heart and let Him set you free where now you are still stuck with bad life.

Be of good courage all who believe in Him and in his payment for sin will find His good life sooner rather than later.

Peace.

Lies Bring Misery.

If i search for my Lord
but cannot find Him.
Then i know for sure
i'm overcome by lies.
And i need to find
His loving truth back.
Underneath my misery
hurting hell out of me.

Best not run of now
with despair or hopelessness.
Getting my eyes of whatever
it is that captivates me.
Looking at Christ instead!
What price did He pay
me walking around
with all those lies
hurting His good life?

He is the truth
there are no lies in Him.
Purest Goodness
is what He looks like.
Truly faithful love
is what He is all about.
Unlike anything i've seen
anywhere else in this world.

Jesus is who i want as King
not those lies bringing agony.
So giving my misery to Him
letting Him bring my good life back.
Putting my trust in His Word.
and letting the lies die out of me.
While His truth grows back in return.
His love setting me free again.

try to listen to yourself metaphorically speaking separate from your mood swings. try to think of yourself when you didn't have mood swings and focus on it. think of your hunger and need not to have those mood swings and focus on it. hold on to hope whatever way you can to move away from those mood swings. Maybe keep yourself busy...could be something. hope and going back to the drawing board is never gone. embrace god if you're a christian. or remember your teachings from christ. i hope you go around light weight with your mood swings. think yourself strong and confident in these matters to not have these mood swings and be formidable about it mentally. 'at least imagine' your true strength never faltering. when you think if you had a choice and that you would not want the mood swings...think of it and it might help you. think of those close to you to help you if they can. maybe their worry for you can help you find sanctuary mentally.
i have mood swings too and i try to put myself in place of safety when i can. i hope you can find peace like i try to all the time. i hope you find serenity and harmony within yourself. for me, it's hard to fight off those feelings of anger but i have to try to go back to the drawing board or something. it's okay to be honest with yourself to see how hard it is but giving into your mood swings is easier for a reason because it's not exactly the best thing for you.
