Exorcist says active sacramental life is the ordinary means of keeping the evil one at bay.

When he was a child, Stephen Adubato asked his parents for a Ouija board. Several of his relatives dabbled in magic, and he had become interested in experimenting with occult practices.

Adubato’s family bought him the Ouija board, and he began communicating with spirits who presented themselves as his relatives.

“They say very sentimental things, like ‘I miss you,’ and ‘I love you,’” he told the Register. “But when you start asking questions, they begin to say darker thing — vulgar curse words or sexual things.”

Experiences like Adubato’s are becoming more common, as interest in occultism and related things like astrology are reportedly at a decades-long high.

Social media has become a significant medium for creating and sharing content that promotes occult practices and beliefs, especially among young people. With more than 1 billion monthly users, TikTok shares content by presenting users with videos that the algorithm predicts they might like, which means that users can see content without directly seeking it out.

While researching TikTok spiritualities for her undergraduate dissertation, British scholar and writer Esmé Partridge began documenting the phenomenon of “WitchTok,” a subculture on TikTok where self-described witches share occult content.

Thanks to the author for opening this thread. Now this is a very hot topic. In my opinion, most of the troubles in the world are due to the occult. Even the war in Ukraine (perhaps) would not have happened if it were not for the occult. People began to confuse good and evil.

If until the 80-90s the main enemy of Christianity was atheism and materialism with its theory of evolution. Now the main enemy of Christianity is the occult. And it is more difficult to fight this enemy. The atheist-materialist could only use the word and physical influence. He could always be caught by the hand during such an action. You could contact the police. Occultists operate in secret. At the same time, two opposing ideas are being promoted: 1) you can spiritually influence other people; 2) demons do not exist, this is the development of the hidden abilities of the human body.

Only Jesus Christ can protect. But, unfortunately, for the sake of secularization, many clergy themselves say that: 1) either occultism does not exist and the affected person is sent to a psychiatrist; 2) or occultism does not affect a believer, but at the same time without even trying to understand the issue. Some even go so far as to say that demons do not exist, making the gospel false (Jesus Christ and the apostles cast out demons).

Now massively people are moving away from Christianity and moving into the occult. They consider Christianity powerless. But this is not so, it happens when we do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or when we do not see our sins. Occultists give a quick result in the form of material well-being or influence on people or influence on situations. But this is not for long. Sooner or later everything collapses.

Christians are afraid to talk about the occult so as not to look crazy. As a result, even those who come to the priests often do not receive help.

Although I am an Orthodox Christian, but this testimony of a Protestant who used to be an occultist made a big impression on me:
