• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

26. I've got all the trademarks. Shave my face every single day...

I started with having twice monthly periods, starting when I was only 9 years old. After I turned 15 my mom took me to the gyno (that was the earliest I could be seen at gyno by my insurance) and was put on the pill to try to regulate my periods.

It didn't work. When I went off, my periods took a long time to restart. Even now I sometimes miss for 11 months. Typically I go about 4 months between periods.

Hey hun.. have seen a reg. Family dr.?
u sound like u have a hormonal imbalance? Well being ur hormones r out of wack it seems.. i wonder if there is a stronger b.c. On the med. market?

Family doctors aren't qualified to handle hormone imbalance issues (or feminine issues). If a gynecologist can't help, it would be best to see an endocrinologist whose specialty is hormones.

With all due respect can plez allow the member i was posting to answer me? Keeping in mind u boldly told me in another post u werent going to respond to me :(?? friendly reminder :)
in my opinion u r a very rude member :(.
May God have mercy on ur soul?

I wasn't going to debate with you in regards to a diabetic diet. I have diabetes mellitus and have spoken with a nutritionist and am monitored twice weekly so I am very affluent with how one should treat their meal planning. You weren't giving low-carb diet advice and a diabetic needs a low-carb diet.

I also have PCOS so I know first-hand who to go to and I've had it since I was 14. Given I have been through everything from ultrasounds, CT scans, and surgery, I do believe I'm fully qualified to interject here. I know for a fact that gynecologists are not as up-to-date on PCOS as an endocrinologist. That is why it is not uncommon for a patient to be sent to one. Family doctors (in the USA) are not specialists and they do not have the skillset to deal with endocrine system issues.

Given that you have asked a question to someone that posted four years ago, it is highly doubtful they will answer any time soon. I am interjecting on behalf of those who might see this thread and consider going to a family doctor which is a waste of time as they can't do anything.
