Greetings.

The exact phrase "little horn" is mentioned only once in Daniel 7:
"I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them
another little horn, before whom there were three of the
first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were
eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things"
(Daniel 7:8).

The exact phrase "little horn" is similarly mentioned only once in
Daniel 8: "And out of one of them came forth a little horn,
which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the
east, and toward the pleasant land" (Daniel 8:9).

But the person which the little horn represents, the Antichrist, is
mentioned ten times in Daniel 7, once as "another little horn", once
as "this horn", once as "the horn", once as "the other [horn]", once
as "that horn", once as "the same horn", once as "another [horn]",
and thrice as "he":

"I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them
another little horn, before whom there were three of the first
horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were
eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things"
(Daniel 7:8, compare Revelation 13:5-6).

"I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the
horn
spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body
destroyed, and given to the burning flame" (Daniel 7:11, compare
Revelation 19:20
).

"And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other
which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn
that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose
look was more stout than his fellows" (Daniel 7:20, compare
Revelation 13:5-6
).

"I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and
prevailed against them" (Daniel 7:21, compare Revelation 13:7).

"And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise:
and another shall rise after them; and he shall be
diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings"
(Daniel 7:24).

"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and
shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times
and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times
and the dividing of time" (Daniel 7:25, compare Revelation 13:5-7).

---

And the person which the little horn represents, the Antichrist, is
then mentioned fourteen times in Daniel 8, once as "a little horn",
four times as "it", six times as "he", twice as "him", and once as "a
king of fierce countenance":

"And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed
exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and
toward the pleasant land" (Daniel 8:9).

"And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and
it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground,
and stamped upon them" (Daniel 8:10).

"Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and
by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of
his sanctuary was cast down" (Daniel 8:11, compare Daniel 9:27
and Daniel 11:31
).

"And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by
reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the
ground; and it practised, and prospered" (Daniel 8:12,
compare Daniel 9:27 and Daniel 11:31).

"And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are
come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and
understanding dark sentences, shall stand up" (Daniel 8:23).

"And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and
he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise,
and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people" (Daniel 8:24,
compare 2 Thessalonians 2:9 and Revelation 13:4,7).

"And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in
his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by
peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against
the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand"
(Daniel 8:25, compare 2 Thessalonians 2:4 and Revelation 19:19-20).

The Antichrist, referred to as the "little horn" in Daniel 7:8 and
Daniel 8:9, is referred to as "he" in Daniel 9:27; and is referred to as
"the king", "he", and "himself" in Daniel 11:31,36; and is referred to
as "the beast", "him", and "he" in Revelation 13:4-8 and Revelation
19:19-20; and is referred to as "that man of sin", "the son of
perdition", "himself", "he", "him", and "that Wicked" in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-9:

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:
and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and
the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations
he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and
that determined shall be poured upon the desolate" (Daniel 9:27).

"And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the
sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and
they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate ... And the
king
shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt
himself, and magnify himself above every god, and
shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall
prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is
determined shall be done" (Daniel 11:31,36).

"And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the
beast
: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like
unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And
there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and
blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty
and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy
against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them
that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war
with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given
him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that
dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not
written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of
the world" (Revelation 13:4-8).

"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their
armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the
horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and
with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before
him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark
of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both
were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone"
(Revelation 19:19-20).

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be
revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth
himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so
that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I
was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what
withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the
mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will
let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that
Wicked
be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of
Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders" (2 Thessalonians 2:3-9).

(There are also other verses in the Bible which refer to the Antichrist.)

What do you think about these things?

Hi Bible2

Hi.

Why do you think Daniel used the word "he" in Daniel 9:27?

The he who is confirming the seven-year treaty in Daniel 9:27 is
the Antichrist, who will "cut" a seven-year treaty with a false
ultra-Orthodox Jewish Messiah (Daniel 9:26) after defeating that
Messiah (Daniel 11:22-23). This treaty will permit the ultra-
Orthodox Jews to keep a temple they will have built on the
Temple Mount in Jerusalem (Revelation 11:1) and offer the daily
Mosaic sacrifices in front of it, so long as they give up the outer
court of the temple to the Muslims (Revelation 11:2) so the Muslims
can worship in the Al Aqsa Mosque at the southern end of the
Temple Mount. But two or three years into the seven-year treaty,
the Antichrist will break the treaty (Daniel 9:27b), attack the
temple, stop the daily sacrifices, and sit in the temple and proclaim
himself God (Daniel 11:31,36, Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:4).

What transgression was not yet finished by a "he"?

In Daniel 9:24, "finish" the "transgression" means that Jesus will
"restrain" the "rebellion" of mankind at his second coming, during
his millennial reign on the earth (Psalms 2).

verse 2 - "he"
verse 27 "he"
Same person?

No. "He" in Daniel 9:2 is YHWH, who gave his word to Jeremiah, that
he, YHWH, would punish disobedient Jerusalem for seventy years
(Jeremiah 25:8-12), which YHWH did (2 Chronicles 36:20-23,
Zechariah 7:5).

Why do you think it says "another little horn"?

Daniel 7:8 means another horn in addition to the ten horns; it doesn't
require that the ten horns were also little horns, for it can be read
as "another, little horn", that is, another horn, which horn was little.
Daniel 7:8 means that the country which the Antichrist will come out
of will be a little country. He could be an Arab who will come out of
Lebanon, from the city of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:2, cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:4).
The Antichrist won't come from any of the ten large endtime countries
(the ten horns) the territory of which used to be part of the Roman
Empire (Daniel 7:7), for the Antichrist will come from a country which
is "diverse" from the ten large endtime countries (Daniel 7:24). They
could be the U.K. Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Iraq, Syria,
Egypt, and Algeria. For the Roman Empire included not only Western
Europe, but also the Middle East and North Africa. The little country
the Antichrist will come from will probably be in the Middle East, for
he has to come from a country the territory of which used to be part
of one of the four Greek Diadochian kingdoms which succeeded the
Greek Empire of Alexander the Great (Daniel 8:8-9,21-25).

Without watching this particular horn do anything other than come
up, Daniel says this<
"whom...three of the first horns plucked up"

Daniel 7:8 refers to the Antichrist, the "little horn, before whom
there were three of the first horns plucked up". This means that
the Antichrist will begin his rise to world rule by first gaining control
of three of the ten large endtime countries (the ten horns) the
territory of which used to be part of the Roman Empire (Daniel 7:7).
He could be an Arab who will come out of Lebanon and first gain
control of Syria, Iraq, and Egypt, which by that time could have
been put together into a Baathist confederation. This confederation
could have been put together by an Iraqi Baathist General after he
defeated Israel and Egypt (Daniel 11:15-17; in verse 17, the original
Hebrew word translated as "daughter" is "bath"). The Iraqi Baathist
General could have defeated Israel and Egypt with a gigantic Iraqi
Army built up by the U.S. to defeat Iran instead (with the idea of
ending Iran's nuclear weapons program and extremist regime).

So do you see this shows that the wicked king will come from the
east to attack the pleasant land of Israel?

Israel.....<<..little horn king.>>..goes east.....
...............takes the south.................

Daniel 8:9 could mean that the Antichrist will come out of Lebanon
and first gain power over Egypt (the south), Syria and Iraq (the
east), and Palestine, i.e. a defeated Israel (the pleasant land).

Daniel saw three visions in that one chapter.

Greetings.

Actually, Daniel had one coherent dream in Daniel 7:1-14, in which
he saw (visioned) different things.

vinsight4u posted in message #8 of this thread:

a four beast was seen

The four beasts of Daniel 7:3-7 represent four ancient empires: of
Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.

had ten horns

The ten horns of Daniel 7:7b are ten major endtime countries the
territory of which used to be part of the Roman Empire. Because
the Roman Empire included not only Western Europe, but also the
Middle East and North Africa, the ten major endtime countries the
territory of which used to be part of the Roman Empire could be the
U.K. Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, and
Algeria.

and "another little horn"

The little horn of Daniel 7:8 is the Antichrist, who won't come from
one of the ten major endtime countries the territory of which used
to be part of the Roman Empire, but will come from a country which
is "diverse" from the ten (Daniel 7:24). But the Antichrist can't come
from just anywhere outside of the ten, for the country he comes
from has to be a country the territory of which used to be part of
one of the four Diadochian kingdoms which succeeded the Greek
Empire of Alexander the Great (Daniel 8:8-9,21-25). So the Antichrist
will probably come from a country in the Middle East. But it can't be
one of the major countries in the Middle East, because it has to be
"diverse" from the major countries. So the Antichrist could come from
Lebanon. He could be an Arab, from the modern city of Tyre
(Ezekiel 28:2, cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:4).

The Antichrist has to begin his rise to world rule by first gaining
control of three of the ten major endtime countries the territory of
which used to be part of the Roman Empire (Daniel 7:8,24). If he
comes out of Lebanon, he could first gain control of Syria, Iraq, and
Egypt, which by that time could have been joined together into a
Baathist confederation. This confederation could have been formed
by an Iraqi Baathist General after he defeated Israel and Egypt
(Daniel 11:15-17; in verse 17, the original Hebrew word translated as
"daughter" is "bath"). The Iraqi Baathist General could have defeated

One like the Son of man is seen

Daniel 7:13 refers to the second coming of Jesus (Matthew 24:30),
when he will cast the Antichrist (the beast) into the lake of fire
(Daniel 7:11b, Revelation 19:20).

vinsight4u posted in message #9 of this thread:

The little horn cannot go south to wind up in the "pleasant" land.

If the little horn (the Antichrist) comes from Lebanon, he could
extend his power south into the pleasant land (Daniel 8:9), which is
Israel (Zechariah 7:14, Psalms 106:24), just as he could also extend
his power south (Daniel 8:9) into Egypt, the king of the south (Daniel
11:5). In the same way, the Antichrist could also extend his power
east (Daniel 8:9) into Syria, just as he could also extend his power
east into Iraq.

vinsight4u posted in message #9 of this thread:

Israel................him..................heads east
= Israel has to be to the west of his coming out of land.

Note that no scripture says or requires that Israel has to be west of
the country the Antichrist will come from.
