  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

How long did it take for the side effects of the 2nd dose of Moderna...

I've had 2 Pfizers other than a little soreness at the injection site no side effects. No different than my daily insulin.

A lady at my work kept a pain relief patch on her arm for at least two months (she might still be using it, I haven't asked recently), because of continual pain from the Moderna shot.

The second shot was the worst for me. I was sick with a capital S. I had a knot in my arm and a traveling rash in my arm. I felt feverish and had no appetite or energy. I felt really sore and feverish. I called the providers and I was told to go to the doctor but I rode it out.It took about 3 days but I got over the reaction. I cannot deny I am not looking forward to the booster. (Lord have mercy). But I got through it. My poor mother that has a host of autoimmune disorders took it the day before yesterday after a lot of consultations with her doctors, they finally gave her the green light but she is struggling too. One physician said she could not get the vaccination because if her underlying conditions but he was outvoted by his peers so here we are. She is still very ill feeling but she said she feels like she will pull through.

This is perfectly normal for a 30 year-old. Younger people almost always have side effects, with the second dose being worse than the first. For me the second dose side effects lasted 5-6 days.

I think that younger people have a stronger reaction due to their stronger immune systems. I think the side effects are actually due to the stronger reaction of their immune systems rather than the vaccine itself.

Apparently that's why the Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1919 killed a lot of young people - their strong immune systems overreacted. My mother lost a brother aged 4 in the epidemic. She was two, and she also got it but survived.

Which is probably why Michie's mother is likely to have stronger side effects, since she has autoimmune disorders, in which (as I understand it) the body's immune system attacks the body.

Most of us seem to have local pain at the injection site. Here are some reasons why that happens.

I was watching a documentary about the Spanish flu and a gentleman who was 9 at the time said that his mother kept him in for many months. His father was the local undertaker and had to order so many caskets and coffins that they were in the kitchen when he ate breakfast and many were his size and smaller. After about 10 months or so his mother let him out and he went to all his friends house, they all died due to the Spanish flu. He was the only little boy left for three blocks.

Thanks for all the feedback. Throughout the day I've actually gotten better. Now I'm left with just a very sore arm, especially around the area of the injection. The rest of the side effects have actually worn off during the day. Hopefully Im past the top and heading downwards again.
I know of several people at my age being kind of knocked out for days after the 2nd jab.

Are you actually going to get a third shot Michie? Is that a thing in the US?

It is a thing, despite the fact that many countries have not even received their first shot.

So President Biden is actually going all America first when it comes to vaccine distribution...? I guess its more to him than what first hits the eye. Like most Cosmo-politicians he just talk the talk...

I didn't get it but my 74 year old dad got it back in March, and he never had any side effects from either dose. Compared with my mom whom I think had a far more difficult time taking the Pfizer...although she had some existing health issues.

Yes, the Moderna shots give that fever and make it hard to sleep.

For me, the first shot's side effects lasted 3 or 4 days. However, with the second shot, only a day or two.

I've heard from others that their experience was the opposite. So, I'm guessing it differs from person to person.

If things go as reported I will be getting a booster in December. Not looking forward to it. As far as I know it is going to be a recommendation to all fully vaccinated people here. Not sure what is going on outside the USA.
