Looks like decline to me...
We are not cherry picking one state - but the US et al.

Let's look at that, then...
ch.gaschart

Looks pretty flat for the last two months, which is what iluvatar wrote. BTW, the largest increase was on Trump's watch, which is pretty much what one would expect, isn't it?

Probably a rise around labor day, and then another decline, if it goes as usual.

Just hit 2.99 a gallon here.

My 15 gallon tank went from 28.00 to 45.00 to fill in seven months.
I have no idea what your point is - this is perfectly normal.

It would be normal just from the switch to the summer gasoline formulations and the summer demand increase. Even more that there is a Covid re-opening demand increase on top of that.

The hurricane that took out refineries, power, and road on the Gulf Coast will aggravate the Labor Day price rise. I'm guessing at least some people will blame Biden. Maybe I'm underestimating the intelligence of those people.

But I don't think so.

nope. We completely disagree.
what you posted doesn't indicate anything abnormal. This is the normal cycle of gas prices, not even taking into consideration the return from Covid restrictions.

Your entire thread is a bust - you ask when gas will skyrocket to 4-something and it hasn't, it's going the other way. Even if it went up to 5 dollars, that's still much cheaper than it was at its highest under Bush, the Republican. So what is your whole point with any of this? All you're doing is spotlighting the fact that gas prices are probably the most stable prices on the market right now.

3.29 a gallon is the cheapest I can find, it can be as high as 3.59 a gallon.

And it only keeps going up.

Under $3.00 in Dallas, except one station on highway 75 that is always, always, always 20 cents higher than any other station.

If it was going the 'other way' it would be going........ down

Who's?

I don't know what state you were in, but here in Florida it was an average of $2.34.

Just an FYI

TAMPA (CBSMiami) — Florida gas prices have seen little change during the past week following July which was the most expensive month at the pump in seven years.

The state average of $2.97 per gallon is the same as last week.

  • 4 cents per gallon less than a month ago
  • 81 cents per gallon more than a year ago
  • 43 cents per gallon more than August 1, 2019
  • $45 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline
“July was the most expensive month at the pump since October 2014,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group.

That is a .63 a gallon increase in eight months.

It is going down. Earlier you posted $3.18 and your last price quote wa $2.99 - that's DOWN 19 cents a gallon - and you forgot to say "Thank you, President Biden!" when you mentioned the lower price recently. Aren't you grateful to him for saving you lots of money?

3.18 is the NATIONAL AVERAGE - 2.99 is my local cost

Look at the colorful picture -

No thank you Joe Biden - you are terrible for the middle class. (My opinion)

Here - I hope this helps:

Well that's so much lower than what it was under Bush and under Trump - why are you not grateful to President Biden for saving you the money?

No - speaking for my local prices - 2.24 a gallon is not lower than 2.99 a gallon -

Even the prices in your home state are up almost a dollar a gallon

Ohhhh, I see now....

You think that the artificially low prices during the Covid lockdowns and restrictions is some kind of normal pricing and you're bemoaning that prices have gone back to their actual normal level...

Do you understand how economics works? Supply and demand?
