There will be night still. It says the holy city will have no night because of the light of Christ in it.

There is an endless supply of water in the new world. It can easily fill all the oceans and seas with a new and pure water of life.

Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Hell will be cast into the lake of fire so no, the other side of the world will not be hell...nor will it not have light because the sun will shine as it does now.

Something tells me the city will not literally be so tall it reaches into outer space.

The New Jerusalem will be equal to 1,900,000 square miles. Current Jerusalem is about 48 square miles. If we apply the same ratio of increase to the Earth, the Earth will be 7795541666666.667 square miles in surface area.

The universe might expand by the same factor (~39,583.33), so if there are 2 trillion galaxies in the current universe, the new one might have 7.916666e+16 galaxies.

    Or something.

Interesting. That's really big. I wonder what planets are going to exist in the new universe too and if part of our eternities will be exploring those galaxies and seeing the wonders of the universe. But that might be a bit too much like Mormonism... Lol.

Also, that world is going to spin in a very weird way if the city is actually that tall. They got the walls too tall though, the walls are only a few hundred feet tall.

The holy city is for the Bride of Christ; that is all the saints. Those not in the city are in the Lake of Fire. So, no sun, no moon, no stars.

And if we had the same body mass on a planet that large, gravity would be so great that we would not be able to walk.

People on the top would float away. And how would the water get there?

Nothing happens to the sun. Scripture states the sun will exist forever.

The "water" that flows from God that gives us eternal life is God's Spirit.

John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

To reinforce the point that you made about the city being too tall if it reached space.

The language in Rev 21 does not suggest the river of water and the tree yielding fruit are non-literal.

That doesn't make any sense. The water does not flow to the top of the city.

The language of Revelation matches exactly the language of Jesus, not literal.

John 4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Revelation 21:6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.

All time is not forever. When we live eternal life, there will be no time, so no need for the sun we use to measure it and no need of it for light. God will provide all light.

This sounds literal rather than figurative:

Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Rev 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Rev 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

There will be time forever. That's what eternity is. The sun will still be there forever.
