Some people like it, and some have a love/hate relationship with it. Others refuse to even be on there at all. What is your opinion on it. Do you have an account, why or why not? And do you think that you will continue to use FB in the future?

I love Facebook, for the most part! Its a great way of keeping in contact with family and friends, especially those I dont get to see very often, or some of my friends Ive met online.
I am careful who I add, and also never share anything on there, that I wouldnt share in person. I think sometimes people forget that its public, and anything you post on there, regardless of how tight your security settings are, is more than likely not going to stay just with those that you have on your friends list. Just the nature of it really.

I use facebook only as a tool for my daughter and son to reunite with me when they are old enough to use the internet. Otherwise it does not interest me at all.

I Love face book...I keep my friends list small and private just family and close friends. I mostly just post recent pictures of kids and grand kids.Its a central one shot way for family and friends to see new photos pretty much .I have joined a couple groups of interest I found on face book too.

I enjoy facebook and visit it almost everyday, as a way to keep in touch with my family, and to get to know my extended family. Of course it's not a perfect place, and people can share too much, and say hurtful things. I'm a private person too, and have most of my personal information set to family only.

Some of the people in my life that I love and want in my life live 100's and some cases thousands of miles away.Social media has made it easier for us to stay connected .Especially since Im very close to about 30 close family members and friends.It would be hard if not impossible to mail each and every one of them a new photo once a week .And talk to them on the phone for any meaningful time on a regular basis.Let alone see all of them on any regular basis.
I guess I want more people in my life than time allows for without social media.

Facebook had its appeal there for awhile. Now, never mind
that the CIA has access to everyones account, it's also
become IMO one of the more tedious and boring sites
on the net.
Relatives and acquaintances whining and complaining.
Or bringing up what they are doing when they go to
the bathroom. Pic of a smiling kitty cat. How nice.

Haha! I don't mind the home renovations so much as seeing over
one hundred photo's of someone's pet dog. Hundred or more pics
of their pet, and maybe one or two pics of the individual themselves.
Thankfully I'd never gotten to witness those pics from the gay
Mardi Gras.

I don't mind seeing renovation photos either, or cute animal photos, within reason. It's all the recipe photos that I'm tired of seeing, the ones that say post to save to your wall. As if saving recipes to your facebook wall is a good way to organize your recipes, lol.
There is such a thing as posting too many pictures of your baby, however. I wonder how these children will feel once they grow up and see the hundreds and hundreds of photos their parents have posted of them as they were growing up.

You hit the nail on the head there! Within reason. Some people go
way overboard to where they seem totally obsessed with their
pets.
Recipe photos I'll briefly look at, but really don't pay much attention
to them. I can cook and bake. I'm just too lazy to buy and make
all the recipes I like.
I find it very unwise for parents to be upping multitudes of
their children's pics up to FB. Not only because the CIA
can access them anytime they want. How do they know
everyone on their friend's list isn't some kind of sicko?

Once I found that there's very little privacy and security on FB,
I pulled a lot of pics I had of myself of myself and my family. A
lot of my family and friend's on the site, really still seem to
be oblivious or just don't care how invasive it really is.

Is destroying my family.. My wife is on it all the time. Our 6 year old son has to repeat himself and Waite to get any time with her. I closed my page.wish she would stop and see the flesh and blood family that she is ignoring

Sorry to hear. I know some family who seem to have the same
problem. Conversing with family, old friends, acquaintances etc.
I have an Aunt who mainly goes on because she likes the games.
Hope your wife gets some help, if needed. Almost anything can
become an addiction.
