People are ALWAYS looking for truth is that not; in a sense seeking God or at least seeking SOMETHING?

Everyone has heard of God, or at least some god. In western culture, you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has never heard of God and Jesus.

So, when we see a person who searches for truth, or something, or whatever and they choose to say that it is not God, then what are they really looking for?

Most are merely looking for evidence of their own greatness. "I searched for truth and found it." is how success sounds to them. They cobble together a lot of truths, but only the ones they like and create some personal truth: a little Christianity, a little Buddhism, a litttle New Age, a little bit of reason....

...and when they are done mixing all that up, they get the perfect truth, and they will tell you, "everyone has their own truth".

So, searching for truth is not the same as searching for God. A "personal truth" is really just pride masquerading as spirituality. The fact that they are not searching for God is not due to ignorance of this existence. Searching for God is giving up pride and admitting that we each are not the center of our own universe.

Always looking for something but not God, just something to avoid the nature conclusion that God exists...why? "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Roman 8.7

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them."

People do "seek" other things as explained, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen." Romans 1

Yours in the Lord,

jm

but people are ALWAYS seeking?

Because they were given the inspiration to seek by God.

Not all people seek God. Many just seek "truth" or "meaning" in their own existence. But those who seek Christ find what?

They find that they must die to be reborn in Christ. The meaning of our existence is non-existence. It is about being in the collective body of Christ.

No one seeks for Jesus Christ, without being inspired and first drawn by the Holy Spirit.

It is in how you define God, people do seeks after 'gods'.

Phil 2

19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state.

20 For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.

21 For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus.

People are ALWAYS looking for truth is that not; in a sense seeking God or at least seeking SOMETHING?

Everyone is seeking God in that God has put eternity in the hearts of man, man is made in God's image, and God is the true and only source of all good. Man cannot escape God. As a deer pants for water so our souls long after him. Man is on a quest to find blessedness and true blessedness is found only in God. So all people are seeking God.

At the same time everybody is at enmity with God and hates the living God. Unless God, by his grace, opens our eyes to his filial love and moves us to repent and submit to his Lordship then we are not at all interested in the living God. We are living in utter rebellion against him. We are allergic to him. We want nothing to do with him.

We're desperately seeking him and yet we want nothing to do with him.

Quite a pickle, yes?

How can it be true that noone seeks God

Because the Bible says it.

Romans 3:11 - no one understands; no one seeks for God.

That's the short answer. The long answer is that what you described is people seeking for "a" god. They like the idea of spirituality and a deity. What usually happens when people are "seeking for a god" is that they end up with a god that meets their own subjective standards. In other words, they end up with an idol - a god fashioned after themselves, in their own likeness.

But nobody seeks for the God of the Bible because he is too offensive to fallen humans. The only way people get "on board" with the actual Living God of the Bible is because He (graciously) changes our hearts and makes us spiritually alive. Check out Ephesians 2.
