Keep thanking the Lord that you are chosen.

Keep praising and thanking the Lord that you are among the chosen.
Good Day,

Not sure that I have ever done that... But if that works for you.

Mat 11:27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Joh 17:6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.

I do thank him for all he has done for me Salvation is of the Lord.

Well does show you that no matter how old you are and know the word of God you can still be a child. I disagree with this video. The fact the one believes we will be standing before Christ where some hear "I never knew you". Well in Matt what 25:32? Christ comes sets foot on the earth and gathers the nations. Are these people saying all who have died and with the Father that means the 12/120/3000 and the thief still have to be judged? Or once you die your safe? No He gathers the nations those that just came out of the great tribulation. Those are the sheep and goats.

Theo only judgement waiting for us is the bema seat where we get rewards. But thats no on the earth., It is strange what we believe and don't believe. Well since Christ can not lie He said He went back to His Fathers house to make us a home (like a old Jewish wedding). So where He is we will be. So where is Christ? Did He not say He would come again and take us/get us/receive us unto Him self so "where" He is we will be. He said it again you know "where" I go. You notice some never touch this. When are we with Him in heaven :) Does make one wonder now about "caught up" which will happen since He can not lie. Paul said "WE" which remain. Not they or them but put himself in that. Hmm he must not have known when that will happen is what I take.

So for me Christ will have to lie to say He never knew me. If you by God drawing you to Him believed in Christ according to John 3:16 Rom 10:9-10 you are saved. Thats the new man which after God is created in Righteousness and true holiness. You are born again. See is not just a simple choice. Something NEW was created in you. That is who you are. That is you the Father sees through Christ. Its not based on any works. You are saved because you believe on trust in Christ. There is no works you can do to or have to do to keep salvation. Its not based on you or what you do. Its what CHRIST already did. So what HE started in YOU He will finish. You will at some point want to stop doing this and that... and you won't now really why but all you want to do is please Him. You want to do good things.. its the FRUIT of what He started in you.

I never knew you they were never saved. Those again are the ones that came out of the great tribulation. He knows you. He told the Father about you. When He comes in the clouds you will hear a trump a shout a voice and see the dead rise and you will go up with all of them to be with the lord for ever. WHEN that happens we don't know but its written it will happen. So if you fall repent get up dust off and keep going.

Don't take my word for anything. If I offended forgive me. He found you.. He loves you and yes He knows you and you will never fall out of His hands which are in the Fathers hands. You are now living forever...from what I read and believe.

50% of Christians appear to be in trouble.

Take a look at Matthew 25:11-12 from the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. Jesus rejects 50% of the virgins because they made the wrong decision.

Matthew 25:11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’
Matthew 25:12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

What did they do? They took the mark of the beast. Explained here:

Hey Foolish Virgins from Matthew 25:1-13: Did you hit your head or something? | Christian Forums

Here are more Christians in trouble:

Matthew 25:44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’
Matthew 25:45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
Matthew 25:46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Well, I helped 499 hungry people. You needed to help 500 hungry people. Off to everlasting punishment for me. If only I had known the criteria.

What did they really do? They took the mark.

Who is waiting for Jesus when he returns?

In Him,

And every single one of those blessings is because He chose us.
Praise Him!
So we surely can praise and thank Him for His choosing.

Now the Bible also speaks about being called and chosen . . . and FAITHFUL. (Rev. 17:14)

For this we can praise Him that He is the faithful one living IN us.

And He will do it.
"He is faithful who hath called you, who also will do it." (1 Thess. 5:24)

I know a sister who wrote a song to this theme. Enjoy it.

Good Day,

RC Sproul answers the question....

In Him,

Bill

Chosen for what?

Chosen in the scriptures, primarily refers to “chosen” for purpose not chosen for salvation.

The context determines what “chosen” refers to.

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16

Here Jesus is referring to the twelve, who were ”chosen” to be apostles. To reproduce the life He invested in them, in which they would have their own disciples to teach and reproduce His life in them.

This is the work of being “fruitful”; bearing fruit.

If we are to zero in on the concept of predestination and being “chosen” then, we should be careful to examine the scriptures and context.

Good Day,

Great question:

RC has a whole book on the question that you ask he answers in 187 pages.

"Chosen by God by Dr. R. C. Sproul is a contemporary classic on predestination, a doctrine that isn’t just for Calvinists. It is a doctrine for all biblical Christians. In this updated and expanded edition of Chosen by God, Sproul shows that the doctrine of predestination doesn’t create a whimsical or spiteful picture of God, but rather paints a portrait of a loving God who provides redemption for radically corrupt humans."

I think maybe that also might apply to the elect. As in those elected to perform a certain ministry. But I haven't really explored that idea yet.

Jesus has a whole book that answers our questions about eternal life;

Its called the Bible; the scriptures are our guide.

If you chose to be a follower of man, that is your choice.

I am a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ.

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” John 3:36

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Hebrews 5:9

First the elect must become saved.

Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 2 Timothy 2:10

Context! Each scripture must be examined to evaluate the context.

No where in scripture is the idea of God “choosing” some for salvation and some for damnation.

Again, the scriptures are the truth. We follow Jesus Christ, and conform our life and doctrine on Him and His word.

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
2 John 9

Good Day,

Well you asked the question.... and in that book RC answers the question for you.

If you are not looking for the answer one has to wonder why you asked the question...

This is eternal life: And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Yes that answer would be in the pages of Scripture.
