How Answers in Genesis lies to their audience

This article was just published on Answers in Genesis, entitled Apes and Humans—Our Saliva Is Different.

This is the excerpt from that article about a scientific paper recently published regarding a study of primate salivia:

As the Institute for Creation Research shares, the researchers discovered that our saliva was very different from that of our supposed “cousins,” gorillas and chimpanzees, as well as the evolutionary outlier, macaque monkeys. Our human saliva is much waterier than ape saliva. Also, the concentration of proteins and the major groups of those proteins found in saliva is much lower in human saliva than in the saliva of apes and monkeys. They also discovered that humans have proteins unique to us. Not only that, each primate species they looked at had its own unique collection of salivary proteins. There was no obvious connection!

Reading the above, I was immediately led to belief that human saliva is somehow wholly unique to humans. After all, they claim that "each primate species they looked at had its own unique collection of salivary proteins" and that there was "no obvious connection!"

Wow! This must be such an amazing paper and contradiction to biological evolution if humans have such unique saliva with absolutely no connection to other primates! Surely this must be a major challenge to modern evolution, right? Right???

So I looked up the original paper and immediately saw this:

All Major Abundant Salivary Proteins Detected in Humans are also Detectable in Chimpanzee and Gorilla Saliva

Human and Nonhuman Primate Lineage-Specific Footprints in the Salivary Proteome

Oh. Well, that was a giant let-down.

So much for Answer in Genesis's patently misleading claims. Maybe next time.

I wish there was an 'angry' rating - what you document is very common among the 'professional' anti-evolutionists.

Unable to generate creation-friendly actual science, they just rummage through the creationist web-o-sphere to find articles that they can (or that other creationists already have) distort and misrepresent to their audience.

What have they got to lose? Even if their dishonesty/incompetence is called out and demonstrated, the "faithful" will still side with them, and will use their lies as arguments of their own.

Sad state of affairs.

And this state of affairs transcends this debate. It seems like there's one side that is genuinely interested in finding answers and "truth" and is willing to change their minds if presented with good information and then there's the other side that obfuscates, argues process and procedure, misrepresents just about everything, lies, cheats.... We see it in politics, religion, other scientific fields such as climate change. The demographics of these people significantly overlap.

Was evolution a significant and essential factor in guiding Nazi thought?

The evidence is therefore conclusive. Nazism was not inspired by evolution, and indeed, much of Hitler's own writings are creationist in tone. The Nazis destroyed evolutionary textbooks as seditious (much as modern day creationists would love to), and the Nazi view of the biosphere is wholly at variance with genuine evolutionary theory, involving fatuous views of race "purification" by the establishment of monocultures that are the very antithesis of genuine evolutionary thought, which relies upon genetic diversity.
