You are correct ... It is Luke 14.
My mistake, I was thinking of something else.
.
You are correct ... It does NOT say it's a salvation tower.
Happy now?
It's not about my happiness, it's about Scripture..
YOU wrote about us building a salvation tower, and even asked us how our particular tower was coming along. Now you admit that that is not even Scripture - so what, in plain English, ARE you asking?
If thou doesn't agree with my analogy, it's on you.
If it's not Scriptural; it's on you.
If thou doesn't agree it's about salvation, it's on you.
It's about the cost of being a disciple - salvation is not even mentioned.
Salvation is free, but there is a COST to following Jesus; laying down your life, being willing to put God first, die to self and love sacrificially.
We don't do those things in order to be saved. We do them because Jesus gave himself to us to save us - laid down his life. This was God's gift to us, Romans 6:23.
So we are asked to give our lives to God. Salvation is free; discipleship may cost us everything.
You might be interested to know that I was asked to do a reading at church tonight, and this was it! The sermon was, as I have said, on the cost of discipleship - not on salvation.
