My only question/comment would be, why did they even have to do this?
I suspect it is because of widespread hiding of curriculum content from parents.
Not a single democrat voted for the bill.

Yeah AOC thinks ensuring the rights of parents is "fascism" while giving the government and public servants control over your children apparently isn't.

Imagine that....liberals voting against invidual liberty and for authoritarian control decrying "fascism".

Hmm.

Congressional Democrats have voiced opposition to the bill, and the White House has also rejected it in a statement of administration policy.

"The administration does not support H.R. 5 in its current form because the bill does not actually help parents support their children at school," the statement said. "Moreover, instead of making LGBTQI+ students feel included in their school community, it puts them at higher risk. The administration strongly supports actions that empower parents to engage with their children’s teachers and schools, like enabling parents to take time off to attend school meetings. Legislation should not politicize our children’s education."

I don't see offhand how the bill would put LGBT students at higher risk. Any thoughts on this?

It's a red herring/distraction from substantive politics, which is a feature, not a bug.

It was much easier for them than to work with democrats on meaningful legislation to help all Americans. Culture wars and grievance politics is really all republicans in DC have to do to get reelected. Voters rarely demand more from their representatives, hence we seldom receive much from them.

Because conservatives needed another reason to be outraged about something rather than try to be constructive.

If you want to control the narrative you start young.
I agree, which is why I'd expect measures like this from the party of book banners.

Most Americans don't want to be manipulated with a comfortable narrative. We'd rather hear the truth and deal with it.
Do you have any evidence for the "most" part of your statement? Because it's my impression that the vast majority of mankind would take a comfortable lie over an uncomfortable truth at any time.

Yeah, maybe I let my optimism affect my reasoning there. Nevertheless, truth is still essential though many folks eschew it.

So you are saying it is a game where outrage is pitted against outrage, being offended the battle cry of the beyond left opposition and their fringe groups for the last six years ?

It restrains government from inserting into school curriculums material the parents object to. And the parents have already gotten involved. That's where all this came from.
Yes especially when the insertion follows a political agenda rather than an educational one following old school ideas of function (the three r's) rather than societal change.

Amazing what people talk themselves into. Somehow protecting families from government interference is oppression.
This bill of rights is protecting the family. It is telling the schools to, first, back off, and second, do not hide what you doing from the parents.
The gov does not need protection from parents. Lol... poor government, so oppressed by the mean old parents.
Seems everyone has rights and protection except kids, parents, families, and, of course, Christians.
Liberal democrat (socialist) logic is truly frightening. What are they going to come up with next? I know, unborn children are parasites. Oh wait!

They merely tried to expand the influence of the internet on children and bring it into their schools, where schools have become the 21st century notion of what churches once were, pushing moral narratives, be they good or bad.

BTW.. how far would an adult get trying to influence a child on the internet? Jail?

Not that long ago if an adult tried to talk to a minor about sexual things he might end up with a sad fate. You just did not do that. I still do not talk to minor children I do not know about anything... much less sexual things. The goal of these forces are to normalize the sexualization of children. Eventually they will say that sexuality begins at puberty and children at the age 10 are fair game. People will deny that, but culture is changing, and not for the better. Get your kids out of public schools. Go on youtube and watch a few videos about how teachers are teaching things to kids that would make you barf. They do it and hide it from parents. They giggle about how clever they are as they groom kids for trans and gay lifestyles.

Not a single democrat voted for the bill.

Did the article mention that 5 Reps voted against it and 4 more didn't vote?

It's shocking to see yet another emotional appeal to ridicule rather than a substantive point from conservatives.

Poor Christians. So persecuted in America. Not even allowed to impose their worldview on others anymore.

Oh wait...
Liberal democrat (socialist) logic is truly frightening.
Actually, what is frightening is the number of people who think that liberal Dems in this country are socialists. That sort of ignorance and/or misinformation is dishearteningly widespread among conservatives.
What are they going to come up with next? I know, unborn children are parasites. Oh wait!
It's shocking to see another emotional appeal to histrionic verbiage rather than a substantive point from conservatives.
