Li-Meng Yan tells Fox News she is 'waiting to tell all the things I know' to American authorities

A Hong Kong virologist who fled to the U.S. earlier this year told "Bill Hemmer Reports" in an exclusive interview Monday that lives could have been saved if the Chinese government hadn't censored her work.

"This is a huge pandemic we have seen in the world," Yan Li-Meng told host Bill Hemmer. "It's more than anything we've known in human history. So, the timing is very, very important. If we can stop it early, we can save lives."

Yan exclusively told Fox News Digital last week that she believes the Chinese government knew about the novel coronavirus well before acknowledging the outbreak publicly. She also claimed her supervisors, renowned as some of the top experts in the field, ignored research she was doing at the onset of the pandemic that she believes could have saved lives.

I think China figured if they were going to have their economy crashed they may as well take down the world with them.

It is not news to anyone that China tried to cover things up. It's been very well known since at least Feberuary, it's been known outside China since at least January--or at least I knew of it. It is what one should expect from any authoritarian government. Officials are afraid to tell bad news to their higher-ups, just like in Imperial China. People pretend that communism in China is something different. It isn't. It's just a continuation of the way things were done in the Republic of China, which continued how things were done in the Empire of China.

They seem to put country before love for others.

Depends where one hangs out.
Don't see it here.

Worldwide. However, it's very intense in the USA, in particular. Don't believe me, tell a bunch of "patriots" that we need to not put the benefits of the USA first.

Therefore, what? We should throw away masks and start tongue kissing everyone? How about Australia?

Her comments came amid a broader debate about the way U.S. media outlets covered China's response. The issue garnered renewed attention after reports surfaced indicating that China had suppressed information about the pandemic's impact on the country.

Some outlets have favorably compared China's response to that of the U.S., while other reports have uncritically repeated China's claim that it saw no new coronavirus deaths in April.

Writing in the Washington Examiner last week, T. Beckett Adams accused media outlets of spreading "Chinese communist propaganda."
