I just wanted to share this again!

My King:

He is the King of the Jews
He is the King of Israel
But He’s also
King of all the Ages;
King of Heaven;
King of Glory;
King of Kings;
..and Lord of Lords.

He is
a prophet before Moses;
a priest after Melchizedek;
a champion like Joshua;
an offering in place of Isaac;
a king from the line of David;
a counselor above Solomon;
beloved, rejected, and exalted
like Joseph;
and yet far more...

The Heavens declare His glory...
and the firmament shows
His handiwork.

He who is, who was, and who always will be;
The first and the last
He is the Alpha and Omega
the Aleph and the Tau
the A and the Z;

He is the ego eimi,
the
egoeimi.gif

the "I AM that I AM"

The voice of the burning bush
the Captain of the Lord's Host
the conqueror of Jericho

He is our Kinsman-Redeemer
and He is our Avenger of Blood;
and He is our City of Refuge;

He was crucified on a cross of wood;
Yet He made the hill
on which it stood.

By Him were all things made
that were made;
without Him was not anything made
that was made;

By Him are all things held together!
In Him dwells
the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
The very God of very God.

He became
the first fruits of them that slept.

He is our Performing High Priest;
Our Personal Prophet;
Our Reigning King.

He is enduringly strong;
entirely sincere;
eternally steadfast;

He is imperially powerful;
immortally graceful;
impartially merciful;

He stands alone in Himself:
He's unique,
pre-eminent,
supreme,
unparalleled:

He's the Loftiest idea
in Literature;

He's the highest Personality
in Philosophy;

He's the Fundamental Doctrine
of Theology;

He's the Supreme Problem
in "higher criticism"!

He's the Son of God!

There is no means of measuring
his limitless love:

It was written in blood,
on that wooden cross
erected in Judea
2,000 years ago.

He was born of a woman
so that we could be born of God;
He humbled Himself
so that we could be lifted up;
He became a servant
so that we could be made joint-heirs;
He suffered rejection
so that we could become His friends;
He denied Himself
so that we could freely receive all things;
He gave Himself
so that He could bless us in every way.

He
is Available to the tempted and the tried;
Blesses the young;
Cleanses the lepers;
Defends the feeble;
Delivers the captives;
Discharges the debtors;
Forgives the sinners;
Franchises the meek;
Guards the besieged;
Heals the sick;
Provides strength to the weak;
Regards the aged;
Rewards the diligent;
Serves the unfortunate;
Sympathizes and He saves!

His Offices are many;
His Reign is righteous;
His Promises are certain;
His Goodness is limitless;
His Light is matchless;
His Love never changes;
His Grace is sufficient;
His Mercy is everlasting;
His Word is enough;
His Yoke is easy and
His Burden is light!

He's indescribable;
He's incomprehensible;
He's irresistable;
He's invinceable!

The Heaven of heavens
cannot contain Him;
Man cannot explain Him

The Pharisees couldn't stand Him
but soon learned
that they couldn't stop Him;

They railroaded Him
through 6 illegal trials,
and yet

The witnesses couldn't agree against Him
and the personal representative
of the ruler of the world,
couldn't find any fault with Him;

Herod couldn't kill Him
death couldn't handle Him
the grave couldn't hold Him!

He has always been and always will be;
He had no predecessor and
will have no successor;
You can't impeach Him and
he isn't going to resign!

His name is above every name;
That at the name of Yeshua
Every knee shall bow
Every tongue shall confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord!

His is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory...
for ever, and ever.

Hallelujah! ...and Amen!

Science and The Creator

"And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah" (Daniel 1:3-6 KJV) "skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science"
Daniel is one of the major prophets of the Holy Bible, but also, as a true man of God, he sought to understand the magnificence of Creation. Hence Daniel was "cunning in knowledge and understanding science." Daniel was a man of God and a scientist, a true scientist, because he did not arrogantly ignore or deny all of the scientific evidence of how "nature" came into existence. Daniel wasn't a God-denying sham scientist.
King Solomon, a true man of God, one of the wisest men that ever lived, was a "scientist," in the sense that he appreciated and studied "nature" - all without arrogantly ignoring (ignorant is based on the word ignore) or denying the Creator of it. Solomon wasn't a God-denying sham scientist.

"And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom." (1 Kings 4:33-34 KJV)
The Holy Bible is in fact filled with science, all of the sciences. Examples:
Astronomy:

"Look now toward heaven [see the Fact Finder question below], and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them" (Genesis 15:5 KJV) "He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names" (Psalm 147:4 KJV)
"Then The Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said ... Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?" (Job 38:1,31 KJV) (the Pleiades star cluster is shown below, and a picture of the constellation Orion can be seen in The Speed Of Time)
This photograph shows the actual Pleiades star cluster which God Himself speaks of in Job 38:31: "Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades?"
The glow around the stars is caused by vast amounts of space dust that is illuminated from behind by the blue stars (depending upon surface temperature, stars can be seen in a wide variety of colors - white, blue, yellow, orange, red). Astronomers believe that gravity causes planets to form from that "dust."
pleiades.gif
Geology:

"a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass" (Deuteronomy 8:9 KJV) "O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea: Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains" (Psalm 65:5-6 KJV)
"Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall" (Ezekiel 38:19-20 KJV) (see Earthquake!)
Medicine:

"And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from The Lord" (RSV: "with the help of The Lord," i.e. implying that The Lord helped to deliver the baby) (Genesis 4:1 KJV) "Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them" (Jeremiah 33:6 KJV)
"the leaf thereof for medicine" (Ezekiel 47:12 KJV)
Chemistry and Physics:

"by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." (2 Peter 3:5-7 RSV) [see Hydrogen] "wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat" (2 Peter 3:12 KJV)
Biology:

"thou hast covered me in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13 KJV) "And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so." (Genesis 1:30 KJV)

Today's Promise from the Bible

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light."

Reflection

Ever blessed are those who put their trust in the strength of the Lord for He will bear them up. Labouring under the curse and by the sweat of his brow, man toils under a fell weight—and to his futility. Therefore, this promise of rest is a sure comfort to be felt by all of God's children. God, in His grace and beneficence, will bring all His people into an eternal Sabbath rest. No more, forever, need we worry that our work would be toilsome or labourious. His yoke is made easy and His burden made light—and so it is out of this rest that the child of the King will work joyfully for the welfare of the Kingdom. Praise the Lord for His ever-abounding goodness and mercy upon the saved!

Meditation for This Morning

February 17 - Morning

"Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi." —Genesis 25:11

Hagar had once found deliverance there and Ishmael had drank from the water so graciously revealed by the God who liveth and seeth the sons of men; but this was a merely casual visit, such as worldlings pay to the Lord in times of need, when it serves their turn. They cry to Him in trouble, but forsake Him in prosperity. Isaac dwelt there, and made the well of the living and all-seeing God his constant source of supply. The usual tenor of a man's life, the dwelling of his soul, is the true test of his state. Perhaps the providential visitation experienced by Hagar struck Isaac's mind, and led him to revere the place; its mystical name endeared it to him; his frequent musings by its brim at eventide made him familiar with the well; his meeting Rebecca there had made his spirit feel at home near the spot; but best of all, the fact that he there enjoyed fellowship with the living God, had made him select that hallowed ground for his dwelling. Let us learn to live in the presence of the living God; let us pray the Holy Spirit that this day, and every other day, we may feel, "Thou God seest me." May the Lord Jehovah be as a well to us, delightful, comforting, unfailing, springing up unto eternal life. The bottle of the creature cracks and dries up, but the well of the Creator never fails; happy is he who dwells at the well, and so has abundant and constant supplies near at hand. The Lord has been a sure helper to others: His name is Shaddai, God All-sufficient; our hearts have often had most delightful intercourse with Him; through Him our soul has found her glorious Husband, the Lord Jesus; and in Him this day we live, and move, and have our being; let us, then, dwell in closest fellowship with Him. Glorious Lord, constrain us that we may never leave Thee, but dwell by the well of the living God.

—1 Kings 19:5
The angel in this passage did not give Elijah a vision, or explain the Scriptures to him, or do anything remarkable. He simply told Elijah to do a very ordinary thing, that is, to get up and eat. If we were never depressed, we would not be alive— only material things don’t suffer depression. If human beings were not capable of depression, we would have no capacity for happiness and exaltation. There are things in life that are designed to depress us; for example, things that are associated with death. Whenever you examine yourself, always take into account your capacity for depression.
When the Spirit of God comes to us, He does not give us glorious visions, but He tells us to do the most ordinary things imaginable. Depression tends to turn us away from the everyday things of God’s creation. But whenever God steps in, His inspiration is to do the most natural, simple things-things we would never have imagined God was in, but as we do them we find Him there. The inspiration that comes to us in this way is an initiative against depression. But we must take the first step and do it in the inspiration of God. If, however, we do something simply to overcome our depression, we will only deepen it. But when the Spirit of God leads us instinctively to do something, the moment we do it the depression is gone. As soon as we arise and obey, we enter a higher plane of life.

Once More on Grace and Good Works

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
In examining grace and good works we are again seeing God's grace is not only His willingness to forgive us through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, but it is also His resource for shaping and using our lives as believers.
God desires that we become amply engaged in good works, to glorify His name in the edifying of His people and the reaching of the lost. Although we are not saved by good works ("not of works, lest anyone should boast" — Ephesians 2:8-9), we are saved unto good works ("created in Christ Jesus for good works").
Our hope of abounding in good works rests upon the gracious working of God on our behalf. First, He remakes us through new birth in His Son: "created in Christ Jesus." Then, He continues to work on us. We do not shape ourselves into an instrument that the Lord can use. God willingly takes that responsibility upon Himself. "For we are His workmanship." God wants to shape our lives like a work of art, thoroughly crafting us in relationship to His purposes for each of our lives.
God's gracious work extends beyond new birth and subsequent fashioning. He even prepares the good works in which He wants us to eventually be engaged. "Created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand." Think of it. The Lord has already arranged the acts of service in which He intends for us to be occupied! Then, why are we not always involved in such good works? The answer is related to this phrase: "that we should walk in them." We do have a strategic responsibility in this process. We are to humbly and dependently walk with the Lord Jesus every day.
Jesus addressed this matter. "Then they said to Him, 'What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?' Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent'" (John 6:28-29). Exercising faith in the Lord is what brings us into the workings of God for our lives. This involves believing in His plan, as revealed in His word. This includes trusting that His will is best for us. This comprises walking in reliance upon Him, allowing Him to guide us each day into the appropriate good works. Such a response brings service empowered by grace, as seen in the early church. "And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all" (Acts 4:33).
Creator of heaven and earth, I thank You for creating me anew in Christ Jesus. I praise You for Your ongoing work in me. Please shape me into an instrument You can use. Lord, forgive me when I am irresponsible through self-will or self-sufficiency. Lord, I want to humbly and dependently follow You each day, in the light of Your word, AMEN!!!!

That is so cool, Matt! You can see all the craters! Definitely appreciate this because my daughter wants to be an astronomer, just bought her a moon filter and rectifier lens for her telescope this week. She loves to look at the sky, and she has her very own star too! She looks up at the sky and says, "There's my star." Little does she know that while she is looking at her star, I am looking at mine. :)
