PRAISES:
The Writers Strike is OVER after 100 days!!! As of Wednesday, Feb. 13th, the WGA has signed their new 3 year agreement. Thank you so much for continuing to pray for the WGA Strike, the negotiations, and all the people impacted by it. Our HPN friend Chuck, at the WGA, was a key player in the negotiations and we praise God for his wisdom, favor, and expertise!
Praise God for Care For Hollywood! It has met the last few Thursday nights to meet the personal and spiritual needs of people struggling through the strike. It will meet for two more weeks to continue reaching out and to celebrate the end of the strike and then it will continue as a weekly prayer group for anyone in the industry to attend. The Minnesota Local Chapter hosted a Pastors Breakfast on Feb. 7th and it was a hit! Heidi led a team of volunteers, (including Fran & Doug Briggs, former LAFSC Dir.) to put together a wonderful gathering of 39 pastors and industry professionals.
Karen Covell gave her vision of Hollywood as a mission field and how we should be praying for the people here and in the media all over the globe.
One man apologized tearfully afterwards for all the times he has talked against Hollywood and the professionals here and said he will never do that again. From now on hes going to PRAY! Praise God for that great time!
Praise from an HPN member: Last Thursday I got chance to show the HPN 15 min The Hollywood Tribe DVD and The Day of Reckoning, a 168 Project film, to the mens Bible study group here. Both films were very well received and sparked some great discussion and prayer! Jim Foust, Pennsylvania
Praise God for His amazing miracle in healing Peggy Rupple of her cancerous tumor and for your prayers for her. As she was preparing for her bone marrow transplant she had a Dr.s appt. and her Dr. couldn't find the tumor!
He saw a few tiny stems that he'll watch, but he told her there's no need for the transplant and for her to come back in four months to get checked. We are all part of a miracle! As you praise Him for this, please keep praying that Peggy can be cancer free when she returns to the Dr. in June!

There are still many people who are hurting financially from the three month strike so please continue to pray for them and their families.
The Golden Globes ceremony was cancelled,
ABC let off 30 writing and non-writing producers, agencies and production companies were hit hard, and Warner Bros. let off 1,000 people two weeks ago. So please pray for this all month.
Please continue to pray with us for Britney Spears, her children, and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears
Britney is now under the legal guidance of her father and shes in psychiatric care,
which will help her with possible bi-polar issues as well.
She needs the Lord to dramatically touch her heart.
Continue to pray for Karl Vogels (VP of Echostar) son Luke as he slowly recovers from a serious ski accident. He is getting slightly more body movement from his fractured vertebrae and we need to keep praying for his paralysis.
May God be a healing and strengthening presence in their family.

The 80th annual Academy Awards is coming up on Sunday, February 24th., - strike free - and will be hosted by Comedy Centrals TV host Jon Stewart.
Please pray that the people involved on all levels of the ceremony will find their peace, joy and identity in Jesus, not in their success or loss at the Oscars!
If you are in the L.A. area we will be gathering over the lunch hour (12-1 p.m.) on Friday, February 22nd at the HPN offices (1763 N. Gower St., Hollywood, CA 90028) to pray for the Academy Awards. All are welcome!
We ask that you pray for the friends and families of Brad Renfro and Heath Ledger,
as they are mourning the loss of these young actors who both passed away in January from drug overdoses.
May the Lord turn these tragedies into good for His glory as we pray for him to touch the hearts and lives of those feeling the loss of these two men.
Pray for Tom Cruise and his deep commitment to Scientology. There has been a lot of underground footage of Tom being interviewed about Scientology.
Its very disturbing to many and so we ask that you pray for Tom to see the truth of Gods message and not accept any lies in his life.

Kiefer is Donald Sutherlands son. He has been married twice and has one daughter and three step-children.
Mastermedia has just come out with an Indian version of their Media Leader Prayer Calendar with all Bollywood stars and decision-makers listed alphabetically to pray for every day.

I was just praying for the ministry of HPN this morning on my way to work...thinking about the death of Heath Ledger and the impact on Hollywood and his fellow actors.
It renewed my burden for those Christians working in the industry...for the great impact they can have on those around them.
No matter how much fame, money, looks, possessions, these actors/actresses have, they are still just lost souls who need Jesus.
And those Christians who work around them might be the only opportunity they have to hear and/or see the Gospel message in action.
It reminded me how important it is to pray for our brothers and sisters who are out there on the "front lines" being a testimony and witness for Christ.
Let's pray that this tragedy of Heaths death will cause others to think about eternity and their own lives.
Maybe some Christians will be able to share Jesus thru this.
Pray for kids in the industry. HPN Member Dale Dreher has started a Yahoo Group for Parents of Child Actors.

There is an outreach event planned in Bollywood in July, 2008
with keynote speaker Ravi Zacharius committed to speak to the stars and decision-makers there.
Please pray with them and HPN Local Chapter Director, Davita, that some of the influential entertainment people in their industry will
come to know the Lord and that Christianity will become a vital faith in their culture through their media and entertainment people.
