How do you like to worship?

For me, I just close my eyes and surrender to God and feel the warmth of His wonderfull presence.
Also, do you know any ways to get deeper into his presence when worshiping or praying?
It seems like when I worship I always get his presence, but when I pray, it happens every once in a while.

There seems to be so many ways that we can worship God that are a delight to Him. With me when I start singing songs to Him He shows up really strong. I usually make up my own songs of love and adoration to Him but I will also make up tunes to the Psalms and sing away. I can sense His presense and I know He enjoys it.

When I sing songs in tongues to Him, He always shows up. But I was wondering if there were any other ways. *hmmmmm*

Maybe you are more gifted at worship than at prayer. Use it. Are you a musician by chance? Perhaps you should think about joining the worship group. Maybe you will be a natural worship leader one day.

Perhaps you shouldn't apply for a post in the prayer ministry team. But keep praying. We are all called to prayer but some are called to be prayer specialists as it were.

When I'm alone and spending time with God, I like to talk to Him like I talk to a friend. If I'm in church, I'll close my eyes during prayer times, and sing along during worship times. It really depends on what's going on at the time, and what kind of mood I'm in.

I'd hate to limit my expressions of love for Him to only one thing.

Singing, dancing, laughing, loving, praying, living, serving, those are ALL forms of worship.

I've been thinking that maybe I am more gifted at worship than prayer, but I always have sooo much time to pray and maybe only like an hour to worship.
And I was thinking maybe the reason I dont get His presence when I pray was becase I dont pray right or something.
I always pray to God as if He was a friend, I even joke around with Him. Does He like that??

I've been thinking that maybe I am more gifted at worship than prayer, but I always have sooo much time to pray and maybe only like an hour to worship.
And I was thinking maybe the reason I dont get His presence when I pray was becase I dont pray right or something.

I bet He does. He wants us to come to Him sincerely, and without holding anything back. If you feel like sharing a joke, I'm sure He wants to hear about it!

I like to dance before Him too. Sometimes I twirl and sometimes it's like a waltz.

A few weeks ago I was getting ready for work and I had a worship CD on. I was about to leave and I was crossing the living room floor to turn the CD off and I felt the Lord touch me and I heard him say, "come, dance with me". I stopped for a moment and then I started dancing with Him. It was really cool.

He is so interested in us and just loves it so much when we do something for Him out of our love and affection.

I think He'd enjoy the joke too. He told me a joke once so I can imagine He'd enjoy hearing one back.

I love to sing, dance, bow, stand, shout, play instruments, etc. I sing in tongues and english. He loves it all.

And of course, as lambslove pointed out the best worship of all is walking in obedience to Him. Jesus said, "if you love Me, keep my commandments". So we definately show our love most by obeying what He's told us to do.

What an awesome God we serve.

I agree, the whole of our lives should be offered up as a living sacrifices.

Sometimes it's difficult to convey the different types of ways that we show our love to God. To me they are as differential as the relationship between a husband and wife.

Ultimately, they show their love, admiration, and respect for each other by being faithful to each other. By treating each other with care. By not talking bad about each other or talking down to or against each other. By getting to know more about each other. However, physical intamacy is a whole different issue.

For me, that's the difference between my life of obedience to Him and the times that I get alone with Him and we are intamate. Not in the way that a husband and wife are intamate, but none the less intimate.

Reading His Word shows me more of Him and it's extremely important. But fellowship and intimacy with Him is experiencing what I've read about Him.

During those times He speaks to me of His love for me. He tells me how crazy in love He is with me. I sing to Him, I dance with Him and before Him. For me, it is those times that change me the most. His love and presense overwhelms me and I fall deeper in love with Him and I follow Him more closely.

I was just thinking this morning of when I began to experience this intimacy with Him. I came to know Him as a young child and I always felt close. Somewhere in my early 20's I picked up a guitar and under the guise of learning to play, I spent hours playing songs of love and adoration to Him. It was during that time period that I began to experience that intimate relationship. . .and it just progressed from there to where I am now.

I by no means believe I've experienced all of Him. . .He's too vast. . .but I'm certaintly trying to. . .and I think I will spend an eternity getting to know Him. . . as He really is.

Mmmm! Taste and see that the Lord is good. Thank you Jesus.

I seem to "experience" the presence of the lord/holy spirit most times in church during praise and worship. When we sing.
I sing very badly. luckily the music are loud enough so people don't really no me.
I also like to close my eyes to shut of everything around me and consentrate on Jesus.

I also sometimes "experience" his presence when I pray. But not always.

I just know that when I rather praise/thank him when I pray rather than asking for things his presence comes more.. And then he gives the things that is neede anyways.

If God is infinitely wise.. he would surely know if we need something!

*tear* awww!! thats soo sweet! I'm going to ask the Lord to change my heart so I seek Him that passionatly too.
There needs to be more Christians like that : So grealty in love with God.

Like once, at a Joyce meyer conference thingy, we were worshipping and I got God's presence soo stong I was like skakeing!!!
It was soo cool .
But as soon as we stoped worshiping, the presence when away.. .....*why????*

His presense did not go away PrayerMist. . .He just eased up a little so you could hear what He wanted to say through Joyce.
