"My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6. In response to the last two posts there is much the general public does not know. It is possible to know if one is inclined to do so.
Go to any search engine and look up "Mad Cow Disease" and you will find that not only are the animals fed diseased carcasses but also those carcasses anethisized from animal shelters. This means that the chemicals used to put animals to sleep is still in the meat being fed to animals that are destined for your next meal.
It take 5-12 yaers for the disease to show up in the victim. The one mad cow found in Canada, that the government is finding hard to trace, is most probably not alone.
The exotic pets, used as food which brought "Monkey Pox" to humans, are not listed in Scripture as clean animals. Aids comes from monkeys, how were they transmitted to humans? By the mass consumption of monkey brains in Africa where Aids originated.
Ask any meat processer and they will most generally be vegetarian. Why? Because they see the diseased condition of the animals being butchered. The amount of chemicals and hormones alone that are being pumped into the animals should be enough to turn one's stomach. There is a grading system for every type of meat except pork (swine). Why? Because there is no good pork, it is all infested with a tiny worm that can not be killed by cooking. But the public love the taste and it makes money.
Our bodies are not our own they belong to the Most High. He created us and knows what is best for us. Our beings were bought with an Infinite Price. Should we in our rejection of His teachings show that we think ourselves more knowledgable than Him? Should we willfully endanger what doesn't belong to us? When our bodies are not functioning at their highest potential can we serve Him as well as we should? These are the questions we should be asking ourselves.
"And you shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might." Deut. 6:5 How we care for these bodies that belong to Him shows Him what we think of Him. In repect to Him we should do with all our might those things which as pleasing to Him. He warned us that in the last days there would be pestilences and diseases and famines. But that because of
lawlessness (rejecting His law - the teachings He gave to Moses in the wilderness for the benefit of His people, then and for all time) the love of many shall grow cold, Matthew 24.
Instead of picking fault with what is written here, a prudent follower of Christ would research what has been written here to "prove all things and hold fast that which is good". As to the quote, "alittle wine instead of just water" Paul was not talking about fermented wine. There is mega Biblical texts showing that fermented wine was not allowed because it numbs the senses. How can we be in constant connection with our Creator if our minds are dulled?
Again, "My people perish for lack of knowledge." The juice from the vine was perserved, in ancient times, by distillation of fresh juice, much the way it is prepared for frozen juice concentrate today. It was then poured into "new wineskins" for storage in a cool place. Alcoholic beverages such as what we call wine today is made from fermented (rotted) material not fresh as it was then. Although there was also available much fermented wine. By our Blessed Savior specks often of the fruit of the vine in context of being fresh. The reason He would not accept a drink of the gall that was offered to Him when hanging on the tree was because it was fermented (aimed at humanitarian mercy for those suffering to numb them a little). But our Blessed Savior observed the teachings He, Himself, gave to Moses, the Old Testament teachings, that He warns us would be rejected, Matt. 24.
Fresh grape juice is very high in antioxidants which are extreemly beneficial especially to an weak stomach.
