"If Crooked Hillary got elected, you would not have a 2nd Amendment, believe me."
-Donald Trump, September 22nd, 2017 at an Alabama rally.

It seems an odd thing to rally on seeing as I was just told yesterday that Donald never talks about the election or his opponent anymore.

Do you believe him that Hillary would have abolished the 2nd Amendment?

We really have no way of knowing, but what do you believe?

Donald's been full of odd things lately at his rallies... Or full of something, anyway.

Good. I hope he keeps saying such stupid things and hopefully some of his supporters will realize he is either completely inept or that he is just full of it.
Meanwhile the Rep. Congress have got to be hanging their heads in embarrassment.

Of course she would have -- just like Obama did. Don't you people ever learn?

The second amendment will likely never be repealed but it certainly needs modification/clarification to bring it back into line with the original intent.

Explain that to the NRA.

Ah, another instance where the left tries to make us Trump supporters look like idiots for believing this.

But, she DID say that she would look at an Australian-like system to confiscate guns. She said it during a town hall. She said that the Supreme Court was wrong on the 2nd Amendment.

Hillary Clinton does want to confiscate your guns; her campaign inadvertently admits it, and FactCheck.org repeats her campaign’s admission. Last fall, Clinton declared that “the Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment,” an obvious reference to D.C. v. Heller, which affirmed that the Second Amendment confers an individual right to own firearms.

Yes, Hillary Wants to Get Rid of the Second Amendment

So when Clinton blasts the "gun culture," says Obama didn't go far enough, talks about

adopting Australia's gun confiscation, and wants to sue manufacturers out-of-business, then, no, she is not proposing anything short of a total ban on firearms.

Hillary Does Want to Ban Guns No Matter What “Politifact” Says

So, yes, Trump was right. Again.

Hi peachykeane,

You must get your news from the now infamous 'fake news' sources.

It seems an odd thing to rally on seeing as I was just told yesterday that Donald never talks about the election or his opponent anymore.

Donald Ducky Trump ever stop talking about the election and 'crooked' Hillary is like someone claiming that they don't need oxygen to breathe.

Now he's started a war of flaming arrows against our national sports franchises.

He's sure making America great again. Let's just hope that there's an America left when he leaves.

Do you believe him that Hillary would have abolished the 2nd Amendment?

As has been previously pointed out, the president just doesn't have the power to just erase anything from the constitution. She could have made an issue of it and put it up to the legislature for a vote, but she's quite a bit smarter than Donald Ducky Trump. She knows better than to start a fight that she can't possibly win even if it is her personal feelings about such a thing. I do believe, though, that the 2nd amendment could use some tweaking.

After all, it's stated purpose, as per the very words found within its opening words, was that such a thing was in order for the nation to have a militia. This clause of the constitution was written in a day when the U.S. didn't have a standing army. There was no National Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines. I don't think the founders of our nation ever intended that their words were to be used in later generations to secure some freedom for its people that would cause death and destruction by the boatloads every day against its own people. I believe, had they had a crystal ball to see the future of how their words would be used for such purposes, that they would have added 'until the nation is able to raise up its own standing army'.

I hear people all the time making the claim that our right to bear arms is what makes our nation so great. I disagree. There are plenty of other nations that enjoy a lot of the same freedoms that we do, and yet, have fairly strict private gun ownership laws. One of the great benefits for them is that they also enjoy a much lower violent crime death rate per capita.

God bless you,
In Christ, ted

The President does not have the power to single-handedly abolish amendments, and I don't think Hillary would have been likely to try.

It'd be nice if someone would, though.

Ummmm...what?

TownHall is not a reputable site. as for review it only hints at DC vs Heller and the only quote in it of note was this:

Along with the vast majority of Americans, Clinton believes there are common sense steps we can take at the federal level to keep guns out of the hands of criminals while respecting the 2nd Amendment. She also believes Heller was wrongly decided in that cities and states should have the power to craft common sense laws to keep their residents safe.

So crafting common sense laws that allow for reputable gun owners to keep their guns and yet try to keep firearms out of criminals hand is somehow breaking the 2nd Amendment?

I feel dirty for even defending clinton here but that is a long haul away from trying to toss out the 2nd amendment. And people disagree with court cases all the time. Or do you not remember W's own arguments against Supreme Court decisions?

Well, she did says she would do it with or without help from Congress. Even so, I don't think anyone thinks she would do it on her own, but by appointing the right liberal Supreme Court judge and getting a democratic majority in the House and Senate, she could get it done.

Just the fact that she WANTED to do it and threatened to do it is enough for me.

You would be wrong. People hunted for much of the meat, just as some of us do today, and to protect the herds from wild animals, just as some of us do today.

It takes a super majority in both the House and the Senate and 3/4 of the individual 50 states to ratify any amendment to the Constitution. They can't just be abolished.
