While huge swaths of Republicans refuse to back Trump on character issues such as these, HRC has never been held accountable for her lying.
She would even lie to the families of slain victims of terror and promise that she would get the internet movie producer responsible for the deaths of their loved ones, when she knew full well that this held not even an ounce of truth to it.

The media does not hold a Clinton responsible for their lies. Congress does not. The justice system does not. The American Democratic electorate does not.

The ideal of America as a nation of lies is essentially dead at this point. No one really expects politicians to be truthful. Similarly, if a politician of a high enough standing commits a crime, we do not really expect him to be prosecuted (it is sometimes shocking for there even to be an investigation). Politicians issuing orders which they do not have the authority to issue, or ignoring laws that they do not care for, is so common that many people no longer understand why anyone would have an issue with it.

It is a fully corrupt system at this point. It is not just that even the FBI and the IRS and the politicians and the federal bureaucracy have become little more that political hacks.
The corruption has even infected the people themselves. Acting the part of the partisan drone for the Party is the norm in American politics now.

While Democrats feel that describing their nation as exceptional is rather passe, they believe that they themselves are exceptional.
