Hello! I just found this site. I was impressed with some of the well-reasoned arguments I read, and I decided to join.
I've lived and worked in many countries, including war-torn countries with a lot of poverty and suffering, so I usually take a realist perspective of the way things are.
I view the world, both physical and spiritual, with skepticism. That is not to say that I am without faith. It is to say that I am continuously questioning everything I see and hear, even the fundamental assumptions I hold to be true. I will always be open to what someone else has to say in good faith and based on reason.
I know what it's like to be the only person of a particular background or persuasion in a room full of people who are hostile to who I am and what I stand for. I enjoy hearing about how others have dealt with and overcome the same.
