I am new to this forum. I am a practicing Catholic who accepts the Lutheran doctrine of Holy Communion instead of the Catholic doctrine of Holy Communion.
Welcome! If you have any questions about Lutheran doctrine and practice, don't hesitate to ask. We always enjoy having polite and respectful guests.

Hi John. Is it the terminology of transubsatiation that you are at odds with?
Yes the terminology of transubstantiation is what I am at odds with. I accept the Real Presence of Jesus in the bread and wine but only the way the Lutheran Church teaches.

This is something I am exploring myself. I really think transubstantiation is not so offensive a thing. We both agree that Christ is bodily present in the sacrament. Our Eucharistic doctrines alone, in my mind, aren't sufficient reason to be Lutheran vs. Roman Catholic, as the doctrine is not the most distinctively Lutheran (I would say our congregational-focused ecclessiology and our doctrine of justification are more distinctive).
