Welcome to CF, Tere! May the Lord continue to be gracious to you, as you now walk in fellowship with Him, in the light. May the Holy Spirit empower you to have victory over sin as you turn from it. May the Lord use you to restore & reconcile relationships for any harm that may have been done in the past or any restitution you may need to do.
Some helpful Scriptures to me that might encourage you.
Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses & forsakes them will obtain mercy.
I John 1:3-10 That which we have seen & heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us & indeed our fellowship is with the Father & with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things to you so that your joy may be complete.
5This is the message we have heard from Him & proclaim to you, that God is light & in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie & do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another & the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves & the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful & just to forgive us our sins & to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
I John 2:1-6 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. But if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins & not for ours only but also for the whole world.
3Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him” but does not keep His commandments, is a liar & the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Psalm 32:1-11
A Psalm of David. A [a]Contemplation.
1Blessed
is he whose transgression
is forgiven,
Whose sin
is covered.
2Blessed
is the man to whom the Lord does not
impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3When I kept silent, my bones grew old
Through my groaning all the day long.
4For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
5I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
6For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
7You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
9Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.
10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.
11Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!
Revelation 2:3ff ...You have persevered &have patience & have labored for My name’s sake & have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent & perform the deeds you did at first...
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”
2 Peter 1:1-12 His divine power has given us everything we need for life & godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory & excellence.
4Through these He has given us His precious & magnificent PROMISES, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5For this very reason, MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ADD to your faith, virtue & to virtue, knowledge & to knowledge, self-control & to self-control, perseverance & to perseverance, godliness & to godliness, brotherly kindness & to brotherly kindness, love.
8For if you possess these qualities & continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective & unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever lacks these traits is nearsighted to the point of blindness, having forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
10Therefore, brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling & election sure. For if you practice these things you will never stumble & you will receive a lavish reception into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore, I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them & are established in the truth you now have.
