HEAVEN'S SHEEP

The Lord took a peek
from Heaven’s home
Where he overlooked
The splendor of His throne

But the splendor diminished
as He gazed the whole earth
and at His children that His own spirit did birth

Because as He looked close
at all His good sheep
He noticed some in cells
that Satan did keep

He gazed with frustration
That His beloved would not turn
From their evil ways
That the Lord they would burn

If only they would say:

I have faith in you alas
I’ll bury my evil way
bury it in the trash
Starting today


I see I am wrong
I submit to you Lord
I won’t live for long
With out your good word


I’ll go to my computer
and in google I’ll search
I’ll type in local
And find a good church

I’ll make friends
the right way
That tread the good path
That look for the day light
Instead of a night to get trashed

But The Lord knows
This life is hard
And all too easy
we stay in the Dark

So with faithful love
Our savior holds on
he knows each heart
The cross has sure won


Give it some time
His lost are not dead
The Shepard knows
His sheep are soon led


No more addictions
Or crying in pain
This old earth is over
The jail cells—The stain



Look!

A new earth has arrived
Those who have died
Look!
They are still alive!

Now the Lord takes a peek
once more from his throne
at all His lost sheep
Now they can fly!
Now They
Can roam!

Thank You GreatCloud. The more I write creatively the more I am convinced that my words come from Him! I am humbled at the Holy Spirit and how creative our Lord can be using me!

Yes of course you are inspired by the Holy Spirit obviously. I like the way you are writing how long have you been writing poetry ? Also please tell me about your church affiliation.

I Like the simplicty and clarity of the words you use and yet with deep profound poetic metaphors.
I also like the 3rd person viewpoint as seen from God speaking . Your poem has direction (a story) and it all fits together. I would like to have you work on clarifying parts of the poem but the overall message is good. I like this poem it shows you have a heart for people. Do you ever witness to your friends and neighbors ? I can see that God has blessed you with a gift you are a good poet.

Hi GreatCloud, thank you! When I went to write this I felt the Lord's frustration that so many of us are trapped by Satan from addictions and different things that keep us from really experiencing life the way it was meant to be. But at the same time the Lord knows that this earth is indeed the "old earth" and in heaven all this captivity to sin and evil will be over and done with.

Yes I am reading the 10 commandments and praying daily. The Bible says to watch and wait always. Paul's example for us and how to follow Jesus is key.
