After reading the whole article I can understand their positions and think that they are doing many things to be fair to all of their employees. One group is reducing the wages/salaries of employees making over $55,000 by 20% but will be paying the withheld money to them after business picks back up.

How is that different from any other business?

The fact it's a for profit business is the problem. Unless you don't understand the difference between for profit vs not for profit, in which case I can't help you.

Your health care system is run by bond villains
and runs on the blood of the poor.

Can you support your claims?

The story is about the reduction of elective, non-emergency surgeries
do to the pandemic. This has resulted in lay-offs due to lack of work.
People laid off receive up to 6 months with increased benefits due to
emergency government funding.

I mean, is anyone really surprised? Healthcare is not a human right in America, it's for-profit business.
The fact it's a for profit business is the problem. Unless you don't understand the difference between for profit vs not for profit, in which case I can't help you.

Of the rich, by the rich, for the rich

Those healthcare workers being exposed to COVID-19 are putting their lives and those of their families on the line - if their employment is no "different from any other business," then they should all be demanding substantial increases to be compensated for these risks!

In a pandemic, medical workers operate in a "sellers market" - market forces would dictate that they maximize this advantage by seeking employment with the highest bidder, leaving large stretches of the American landscape devoid of healthcare staff!

Is there some OB/GYN who has an office that is not for profit?

That's what they are doing in New York now.

But the OB/GYN in the article is in Massachusetts and they are not caring for COVID patients.

There's entire not for profit hospitals, with obgyns, surgeons, specialists, GPs, nurses, you name it, it's there. Maybe not in your country though.

Yes in countries where healthcare is a basic human right, not another opportunity to separate a man from as much of his money as possible for comparable or worse care than other countries paying half or less on average for the same treatment.

We’re ok laying off advanced practitioners when there are critical shortages in some areas.

That would be a good case scenario.

I believe the whole world has lost a lot of their wealth, savings and for many their week to week paycheck because of CV.

Thousands of businesses will never reopen.

I think a year down the road after recovering from CV all will feel like they are living with 25% less of everything.

The poor countries will be suffering the worse
I would think?
