The people who translated the ESV know Greek. Are you saying that you know it better?
You can find the 10 commandments in the NT as well, whether implicitly or explicitly.
I came to think of something.
God chose the people of Israel (Deut. 7:6), yet many fell away, fell into idolatry etc.
Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
So true, and yet it is written that all of Israel will be saved:
Romans 11:26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
The translators of the NIV also know Greek. What's your point about knowledge of Greek as both NIV and ESV translators know the Greek language?
No, but I will say the NIV seems more in line with what is actually written in Greek
1 John 3:9-12New International Version (NIV)
9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because Gods seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not Gods child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
Israel is the church not bloodline as some think, if your saved your a son or daughter of Abraham and Jacob. It was always by faith a person was considered part of the kingdom, Israel, that is where the Jews missed the mark they thought their blood gave them special rights. They were focus on the flesh not the spiritual. Blood is the kingdom of flesh, but surly some will say was Jesus blood of flesh, no we do not refer to his actual blood being poured over each of us, we do not drink His actual blood. It is spiritual referring to His life He gave. But Jews thought being born of Abraham bloodline gave them rights, but Abraham him self was counted righteous by faith. John the Baptist try to tell them when He said God could make sons and daughters of Abraham from these very stones.
all of Israel will be saved.
So, then nobody is saved.
I guess I'll quit trying.
agreed
You don't know everyone. With man this is impossible, but if you think God can't make someone sinless you might be underestimating His power!
Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
^^^Why would Christ say this? What do you define as "born again?"
So you're saying that there is a contradiction then...or maybe John is just plain wrong in then verses? Reconcile theses verses for me plz, because they seem crystal clear to me. I am not trying to be argumentative, but I don't see a loophole around these either so I am at an impasse.
The bulk of the NT is getting people to come to the Truth faithfully, not only to remain in it.
Who made us alive when we were dead? If sinless perfection was in the cards, why any other verses about pure living?
If sinless perfection wasn't in the cards, 1 John 3:6-12, 5:18, and Hebrews 10:26 wouldnt be in Scripture at all.
God did, does, and will:
Here's why:
2 Corinthians 13:5
5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in youunless, of course, you fail the test?
It's about the elect being able to realize their assurance.
That's your answer to my question:Are you stalking me?

That's your answer to my question:
So you have responded with a red herring logical fallacy, by providing a response that has no relation to the comment I gave.

Not a red herring. A legit question. Should I be concerned? There's three threads I've participated in that you've sought out my posts. A bit creepy.
You still don't get it when you commit a red herring fallacy. When you don't answer the issue I raised to which you responded and run off with your own line of thinking, you have committed a red herring logical fallacy.
That's exactly what you did.
