Everyone will hate you because of Me
These are the words that Jesus spoke.
but whoever holds out to the end will be saved.
These are the words that give us hope.
When you give your heart over to Jesus
and turn your back on evil ways
your friends, they dont want to hear it
they keep saying, Its only a phase.
Theyll say theyve seen changes for good.
You are not the same person you were.
But to admit that the Lord is who changed you
is a thought that would never occur.
As time passes on and you grow
in your faith and your love for the Lord,
many will rise up against you
to be lukewarm you cannot afford.
At work they bring lawsuits against you
at school you get sent to the office
your friends on the block will call you a nut
and say its the old you they miss.
The changes they said were all good
they now consider them bad.
Its time to give up those old friends.
I know this can be rather sad.
But God has better things planned
if you will just follow His lead.
This is the time to draw closer
get into His Word and read.
This suffering is only temporary
and we must consider it pleasure.
What an honor to suffer for Jesus
While in Heaven we store up our treasures.
The best thing, in my opinion,
is that when we are having such troubles
we can always confide in our Savior
because Hes been through the same and double.
His friends turned their backs upon Him,
the government plotted to kill
the weight of the world was on His back
yet He chose His Fathers will.
So when you feel that the whole worlds against you
and that nobodys there by your side
remember our sweet precious Jesus
and know you are the reason He died!
