Have you always perceived this from the beginning?

For we heard:
“This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.”

Beloved ones, have you perceived THIS IS LOVE, from the beginning?

For we also heard:
And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another.”
‭‭II John‬ ‭1:4-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Beloved ones, have you perceived that which you have had from the beginning ? THIS LOVE THAT LOVE ONE ANOTHER ?

For we heard
“This is love, that we walk according to His commandments.”

For we also heard:
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So we who perceive that that which we have had from the beginning, that is, the love of God, that we also love one another because we have kept His commandments.

Beloved one, perceive in the Spirit ! Perceive the love of God, from the beginning, that you were with Christ.

For we heard:

““Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let us behold the Lord’s glory which the Father have given Christ; for the Father loved Christ before the foundation of the world.

Beloved ones, our unity with Christ, that we may perceive that you have been loved by the Father before the foundation of the world.

THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, FROM THE BEGINNING.

John's teaching here begins with the spirit of truth, and we should also...
2 John 1:2 For the truth's sake, which abides in us, and shall be with us for ever.

The spirit of truth gives us the power to discern the love found in Christ alone
1 John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us.
By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Jesus identifies the Holy Spirit as the spirit of truth
John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will
tell you things to come.
The spirit of truth turns those who walk in error away from us. They cannot abide in truth.
Those who love the truth will abide in fellowship, so that we can love them as we have been loved.
The love of the truth removes the burden from God's commandments. The character of those who
reject the gospel testifies to the spirit of truth or error.

Let us behold the Lord’s glory which the Father have given Christ; for the Father loved Christ before the foundation of the world.
Beloved ones, our unity with Christ, that we may perceive that you have been loved by the Father before the foundation of the world.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Grace and truth enable the human heart to receive the Love of God. Having received,
we still must obey the command to "love each other, even as I have loved you".
Sharing love, how could that ever be grievous?
