• Welcome to Christian Forums
  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

They aren’t protected to whistleblow. The thin blue line is real, they are expected to lie, cheat, and steal for each other. They should protect each other from physical harm and from things like overwork (union solidarity!) NOT from justice or from the law. “Excessive violence” occurs daily in the police force in my city, as does entrapment and racial profiling. I have personally witnessed police abusing, tear gassing, and tricking peaceful protesters, probably 35 times. P,us what I’ve seen in hundreds of videos. The only way that this can happen is if the other officers are complicit. The police force is corrupt, and anyone who joins the force and doesn’t fight the corruption is complicit. I don’t care how many good deeds they do, if they watched another cop unnecessarily mace or beat someone, they’re bad.

well the officers I have come to know are all very nice people. If you live in a higher crime area, detroit, oakland, LA....then of course police will be a little on edge, just because of the harsh work environment. But that is no excuse to be overtly mean. That needs to stop. I agree with you whole heartedly. I just avoid blanket assumptions of people groups. We can't prove a whole force is corrupt, and to do that, would take years of investigation. What if one person is an honest cop, well then it's innacurate to say the whole force is corrupt. You see what I mean. People use this error to be racist as well. Trump says that reducing immigration will keep crime down and has indicated that illegal immigrants are criminals. And some are for sure, but not all of them. And most likely it's due to circumstances of life. Poverty, etc. Not because of a skin color. So again, just being nice in general. And not allowing police brutality to cause bitterness in your heart as a child of God. God does not want unforgiveness in you, just as He does not want it in others.

Why did the bystanders have to alert the other officers?

They’re nice to you, but that doesn’t mean they’re nice to everyone. I stand with what I said earlier - to me ypu can’t get around the fact that those “nice” cops aren’t reporting or arresting the bad ones. So they’re protecting criminals. And just participating in the use of tear gas on citizens, is wrong. Or to participate in the “war on drugs” and have sent people to prison for small amounts of marijuana, that’s not “nice,” it destroys families.

I did, and I was one of the first here to suggest that manslaughter took place.

I challenge anyone to explain the ethical rationale for stealing and destroying others property. People want to make it about race when it isn't. It's about following the law. Scripture commands us to obey the law unless it conflicts with God's. The cop broke the law, end of story. Nothing justifies riots.

I see so many comments which implicitly, as well as explicitly, condone not only illegal immigrants, but even shrug off their crimes, and statistics do clearly show that these illegals commit an overwhelmingly disproportionate amount of crime. One commentor, and it truly dazed me into a state of shock to read it, wrote that illegals in America commit crimes because they don't, and can't get, higher-paying jobs. Another commented that "sure, it will be hard to take in illegals, but we will be better off in the long run"!
Please, don't think I'm trying to goad, because I'm not, but how on earth would we, could we, be better off taking in, not only illegals, but others from third world countries? People on this forum, from what I've so far read, and I've read only a few, seem to think that Race is of absolutely no importance. Well, I must say that these are exceedingly naive people. I speak from very painful experience. Being an old man now, born way back in 1961,in Sw. Georgia, Albany, GA.,where MLK made one of excursions, or forays, back in 1961 when I was three months old, I may have more experience in Racial matters than most. I was born in a segregated housing project, all white. It remained this way until 1971 or 1972 when Governor Jimmy Carter, or maybe it was Nixon, integrated all Georgia projects. Up until integration the project had been clean, there was no serious crime, no drugs, and the people living there, with a very few exceptions, were decent, church going people. I know in the hot Sw GA. summers we left both our doors and windows, not only unlocked, but open. Then the blacks came in. I remember very well a very sweet, kind, old white lady from Kentucky being anally raped and sodomized by a black teen. He didn't kill her but he horribly traumatized her. She was in her 80s when this was done to her. Other violent acts were committed by these "people", too numerous too here recount. I also remember that we had a playground in the project, equipped with merry-go-round, swings, sliding board, etc. These were well-kept, well-maintained. Now the blacks(I forgot to mention they had their own SEGREGATED, ALL BLACK, NO WHITES ALLOWED, project only two blocks away) had a playground as well, but the equipment was always in a state of disrepair, and their project was filthy, while ours was clean. They made a huge issue over whites having a better project than theirs. Although both were built by the same blue print a couple of years after WWII. Well, it wasn't long before our project became just as filthy and ruined as theirs (Wonder why?). I also recall being beaten quite often by these "poor, oppressed" people, even though I'd never done one single thing to them. By the way, their project, Thronateeska Housing Project, was also integrated by law, the funny thing is not a single white person intergrated there. My old project is now 100% black. Whites didn't move away because they could afford to, most couldn't, but to survive. I cannot begin to count the assaults, the rapes, the robberies, etc against whites. Now Albany, Georgia is 77% black. There had been much beauty there, now it's all destroyed.
All I can do is serve as a watchman, and as a white Christian, to tell you well-intentioned, but o so naive brothers and sisters that an all-out, total war has been declared against you, me and our children.
I pray, YAHWEH to open your eyes to see the peril all around you.

Kaepernick was peacefully protesting by taking a knee, and people had problems with that, rather than discussing the number of unarmed African Americans killed by police each year.?

At some point, people see that protesting peacefully didn't do anything, so can we be surprised when the "no justice, no peace" becomes more violent?

Interestingly, a few months ago, white men with semi automatic weapons went to the courthouse of Michigan's capital. No one was fired on, no one died. That's white privilege.

Very Smart and passionate People who suffered and sometime died for their beliefs have much light to shed on these kinds of subjects. Nelson Mandela is such an inspiration to me. He was brave, he was an over comer, he faced so much and overcame - and he refused to hate. He refused for his people to hate their persecutors.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
― Nelson Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom

“Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies.”
    ― Nelson Mandela

“As I have said, the first thing is to be honest with yourself. You can never have an impact on society if you have not changed yourself... Great peacemakers are all people of integrity, of honesty, but humility.”
    ― Nelson Mandela

“Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”
    ― Nelson Mandela

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
    ― Nelson Mandela

Racism has little to do with ones skin color. It's not a primarily white or black thing.
    By definition racism is:
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
2a : a doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles.

These things are taught. Hatred it not inherited it is learned. Feuds and Grudges are held by families for generations. When a human determines he is worth more then another, that is hatred. The bible has much to say about this subject. Jesus said to hate your brother is to "murder him".

Any Man made system will be flawed. Every office held by a human has potential to be corrupted. Every Ideal is subject to change and rot.

The only thing that is unchanging, unwavering, pure and holy and good is God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Bible which He gave us. If we had perfect understanding of His will - if we could read those words and fully understand their meaning - then we would know the incorruptible standard by which to live. But we all are sinful, prideful and our minds are limited in our understanding. Our faith falters. We cannot read the word and simply take God at his word - we have to add "what if's". We rationalize our behavior.

But God is not racist. Does he see color? I believe he does. I believe he loves every beautiful shade of skin that is on this planet. He loves every beautiful language that has been created. He loves every kind of music if we will use it to bring His name honor and glory. He loves fashions and traditions we have in light of his Holy Sanctification. Every NATION, TRIBE and TONGUE will be represented before the throne in heaven as mentioned in Revelation 5.... Every nation will dance and proclaim his goodness - hopefully dressed in the clothes of their ancestors. Representing proudly their heritage.

God would receive most Glory this way. He is inventive, creative and the furthest thing from boring. If you think there is only one right way to sing, worship or look then you simply are very short sighted.

"Foreign" is not a race. Trump is pro American of all races.

He wants legal immigration only. I think that makes sense.

again sir, it involves WWJD. What would Jesus do. I am all for a solid economy. I am all for voting for a good politician. But when a policy directly contradicts "loving your enemy as yourself." I shrug away from it. I don't see Jesus building a wall to keep the poor people out. Do you? I see Him breaking walls down to let the poor in.

Have you looked at the statistics? More people of color are killed are killed by others than by cops. Statistically white people are more likely to be killed by cops. Go look up the numbers. Regardless you cannot blame a group for the actions of one individual who committed a crime.

Yes I can blame them, because two wrongs do not make a right. One cop committed a crime, treat him like a criminal, don't go hurt innocent people.

Because no laws were broken. There is a big difference between peaceably showing, weapon or not, and rioting. And a point of fact it was not just "white men", there was a diverse crowd. Self control isn't a privilege, it's called being lawful.

Praise God.. I don't ever use tweeter....or facebook. Facebook to just post music videos (Christian). Just lol the link.

You know.... the battle is not with flesh and blood. The enemy uses what God made.. to fight each other to hurt no one else but God. Satan hates everything God made. So we pray together we fight this where the battle really is.

But know this..no matter what you see now.. theres coming a time VERY soon where those in white robes that no man can count.. are with Father. We win. So.. always be in prayer.. to to be personal.. which I don't ever share about.. like some I am sure.. to see whats going on.. and CAN'T step in to a.. help :) and thats knowing where the fight really is. Seen to many get hurt and .. shocking as how many stand and do nothing.

I did see that video where the girl .. out of all the guys.. steps in front.. puts her arms out.. they just pull her away.. that was awesome. Easy to talk.. but that moment.

I love how Paul...was. Anything he did.. if it would cause just one to fall.. like eating meat. He would never eat meat again. Now look at us today? Every life matters..

I know a people very close to my heart.. Nez Perce.. Man.. pfft my dad.. nez perce.. From a pearl blanket that.. the ones that made it.. "I like that".. it was huge.. they gave it to you.. thats how he made the mistake of saying.. I really like that. Lol.. or the rifle from the Custer battle...or the huge buffalo head on the wall. On and on.. I never ever say a word.. but.. no one talks about them. Them as in.. all.

All lives matter. God does not see color. Just see know where the BATTLE really is. Lets pray fight it there.. in JESUS name.

I absolutely agree with you on this...
There was a conference I went to once and this guy had taken out every page in the bible which had mentioned either, loving your enemy, taking care of the foreigners, the orphans and widows and taking care of the sick and poor out of the bible and it had a HUGE chunk missing.

If we want to be like Christ - we have to realize one thing. We are not on the earth to accumulate as much wealth in as short of a time span as possible to retire - we are on earth to MAKE HIM KNOWN. Many countries from where these Immigrants had to flee are highly dangerous to the Gospel and anyone who believe there. So them coming here is a way for us to be safe in body and to share the story of Salvation with them.

Also I never understood borders. I mean I get the pride of a nation and a people - but I personally never understood how we as humans can be denied entry into another place - if our heart desired to go there. If we were certain Ireland would be the place where our hearts could rest - then why could I get denied the right to live there?

It never ever made sense to me.

Also what people forget (or just perhaps never considered) is this: Most immigrants don't want to leave their home. But they feel they have to. If i could have been Happi in Switzerland I would have stayed but I did not see it as a possibility at the time. I would however much have preferred to stay there. Because I understand the culture, language and customs so much better - americans still confuse me sometimes. Most don't come here to destroy our country or whatever non sense - they come here legitimately to make a place for their children to grow up where there is food, health care and safety for those they love.

Isn't that the most honorable thing a human can do? Providing for their family as best as they humanly can? And as a Christian is it not our duty to support the and help them as best WE can?
