I'm not an Aussie, remember.
OP speaks of hate, I didn't see where hate was the issue in the appreciation day of chicken sandwiches.
I don't see that chicken sandwiches were the issue, it's Cathy's statement.
Hate is taught in the Bible, several times. If we only look at Proverbs what can we deduce?
Proverbs 6:16-19 (NLT)
16 There are six things the Lord hates
no, seven things he detests:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that kill the innocent,
18 a heart that plots evil,
feet that race to do wrong,
19 a false witness who pours out lies,
a person who sows discord in a family.
Proverbs 15:1 (NLT)
15 A gentle answer deflects anger,
but harsh words make tempers flare.
I think Cathy knew his words would cause a stir for this isn't the first time he said as such.

First, it's not "consumer money". Once a customer buys a meal it is Chick-fil-As money and that company can do whatever they want with their money. Secondly there is absolutely nothing "anti-Christ" or "anti-American" about standing with God on the matter of marriage and homosexuality. What is really wrong is for homosexuals and their supporters to call those who oppose their lifestyle "haters", "bigots" and "homo phobics" (a word made up by the homosexual community to make those who stand with God appear to have a mental problem).
OK, but what I read in your previous post was that the sales on that day when people came forth to support Chick-fil-A disproved any claim that there was persecution.
My issue with this whole thing isn't the gay boycotting of the restaurant. They can boycott who they want, when they want, and by whatever legal means they want.
My issue is that local govts, funded with my tax dollars boycotted a fellow taxpayer from establishing his restaurant in their municipality simply b/c a CEO exercised his right to speak freely on a clear cut Christian issue.
I agree with you 100%. Consumers are free to boycott businesses--I don't care whether it is homosexuals boycotting Chick-fil-A or conservatives boycotting JC Penny. Local governments have no business preventing a business like Chick-fil-A, although, as I said before, what we saw here certainly didn't arise to the level of "persecution" as some have claimed. A few local officials attempted to gain political points by grandstanding on the issue. Cooler heads will prevail.
Please reread my post. I made a clear statement that what has happened with Chick-fil-A is not a case of persecution.
When someone threatens to take away your economic livelihood because you stuck to your convictions, I think it is fair to say that constitutes persecution. Only problem is, I don't think it's working out too well for the oppressors.
First wouldn't be important to know the customer base of Chick-Fil-A? Just bet the majority of customers are straight, just by percentages. Which means to me the lost of sales from a small group spread out over many States is nil by comparison. Maybe that is why Cathy has no fear in saying what he does when he wants. No lost to him, but it does rally the base and bring in big sales from time to time when he goes anti-LGBT.When someone threatens to take away your economic livelihood because you stuck to your convictions, I think it is fair to say that constitutes persecution. Cathy wouldn't have any money to commit to hate groups were it not for the consumer base that supports Chick-Fil-A, and thereby affords the company to achieve gross profits so as to net income.First, it's not "consumer money".
