Thank you very much for sharing Gideon. You might not believe how much you look like my younger brother unless I showed you his picture. When I first saw your pic I thought you were my brother. He was into producing, directing and selling pornographic films as a business, and did that for some time. He doesn't believe in God, but believes in supernatural beings. So we will most likely be separated when the kingdom is ruling over this world. I really look forward to meeting you then.

Try not to let what others think about your beliefs and testimonies discourage you. I was figuratively baptized on a social media site that contained some Christians but also atheists that hated God and hated the Bible. In dialogues with them some would get so mad they would cuss me out when they couldn't prove a point they presented, as I pointed that out. I conversed with them not for their sake, but for the sake of readers that might be influenced by them. That's why I stayed there for years, because a lot of readers responded favorably to my teaching. I didn't want them to be influenced by the hate that was spewed out without hearing good counter arguments to points the atheists could not logically prove.

While I was there one of the commenters that appreciated my work invited me to another site. I'm new here but this one seems much friendlier. On the that other Christian site if you disagree with a point a site author wrote a couple other commenters who always supported them will start getting nasty with you, then the author or site owner will blame their nastiness on your disagreement with his article, and tell you to stop commenting on the point even if you offer respectful comments. On that site no one but me believed the Bible claims Christ is God to both Christians and angels, and that Christ is worshipped according to scriptures. And eventually all hell breaks lose if you show that to them with scriptures and expository teaching. Same happens with other topics, like if you teach scriptures support that Christians have a heavenly hope. Because they told me not to share those and other truths I typed the words Christian Forums into google.com and arrived here.

Get the picture why I say this is the best site I've discovered so far for you. I've been teaching scripture online since, I don't remember exactly, but I guess sometime in 2012, or 2013. Don't let what anyone says or believes about your testimony stop you. I found that even when some cursed me, said they couldn't understand anything I said, said I needed to learn how to write, said nobody believed anything I said, that even in both those places, where those exact claims about me were shared with readers, many other readers appreciated my teaching. The same will be true of you.

" Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well. 21But they will treat you like this on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.…" from John chapter 15 vss 20 & 21

I think there was one dream/sleep paralysis where I really believed that God spoke to me over ten years ago. He answered my questions with scripture some of which I hadn’t read yet. He told me to forgive my mother and and ask her for forgiveness. At the time I didn’t consider myself a Christian anymore. While talking to Him in the dream I was actually really angry at God the Father but when I saw Jesus I stopped being so angry because I thought about how He had died for me.

During the time of the dream I had tried to see the future through dreams and thought I was a prophet but by my own power. When He told me I was not sent In response to me saying what do you think of me being a prophet, I didn’t understand what that meant. It wasn’t until years later when I read the book of Jeremiah that I realized that in the Bible when God is talking about the false prophets He says I did not send them yet they ran.

I’ve been confused for years though because I’ve had a couple of instances of knowing things that were happening or would come to pass but there was no message that came with it. I’ve been starting to think those instances were demonic to make me afraid. I would like to believe it was from God and for most of my life I thought it was but how could it be if He said I wasn’t sent?

some of those instances included having a dream about a plane full of people crashing into a skyscraper about the same time as 9/11 took place. I had a vision about nuclear radiation going off off the coast of California but not knowing the source of it and spreading towards California’s coast and that the people in California were afraid but the radiation didn’t immediately kill anyone in California several years before the earthquake in Japan that destroyed the nuclear reactors that spilled nuclear radiation into the oceans. I kept getting told that someone in my family would die a month before one of my uncles died unexpectedly and suddenly at a young age. I saw a shadow figure that I thought was a demon slowly walking across a parking lot and hit a car with its fists and disappear a second before that car’s alarm went off.

I’ve had other dreams since then where I wondered if God was talking to me, but wasn’t as sure. In the most recent one Jesus was talking to me, quoting Romans 5:3-5 about how we rejoice in our sufferings which produce perseverance and character and hope. He was telling me about how He had suffered for me and was holding my fingers and telling me He loves me. I couldn’t see Him in the dream He was invisible to me but I could feel His fingers holding my fingers. I kept asking in the dream how I would know it was really Him and He said you know me. I felt like Him holding my fingers was a sign of healing because I shred my fingernails until they bleed often out of stress but at the time I had finally stopped picking my nails and they were healing.

The act of God speaking (communicating directly in any way) with a human is a miracle. Unless God is speaking through some other person as Moses before Pharaoh-which is not the kind of experience the thread asks for. God speaking to Moses is the type of experience this thread asks for.

And since I know some people believe highly coincidental acts are caused by the hand of God, I also asked if commenters would be careful of those type of experiences absent other proofs. I also asked they rule out any possibility they were delusional, as you stated, you didn't know if what you experienced might be coming from you instead of God.

All experiences are welcome. But the type asked for in the thread are the type I mentioned, the miraculous type. Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for sharing with us Sea,

If you feel so stressed you shred your fingernails you might consider telling a medical doctor about that to see if he could help you. Contacts by God, especially reoccurring ones should not make you feel so uncomfortable. Spiritual and medical help might be needed. With some mental disorders the common symptoms are hearing voices, and seeing visions. There is a disease that affects 1% of our population that causes those symptoms. Because of the uncertainty you feel about your situation I suggest seeing a doctor and telling him about your condition.

Do you have a group of Christians you meet with? Regularly meeting with some, praying, and reading your favorite Bible books can help. You said you've suspected the possibility of demonic attacks you might have experienced. Pray to God, and do your best to follow him. It's apparent you know he exists. Believe he will, even if after you go through the worst possible times eventually make you whole, if you follow him. And don't try to be a prophet. Prophets arise only because God picks people and gives them a job to do. Helping people learn new things about God or reminding them of things they already know to help them serve God is part of their job. And part of this helping is just telling them what they've seen through God, that's all. But if you are not sure God's shown you something that can help other people, you can still tell them the things you've learned about him. God is the special one, not the prophets. People have a tendency to want to be picked. But as long as you serve God you're picked.

I can say from my experiences that where I was in them, what I saw in them, what I knew, what I was in them, caused me to feel extremely content. Much more so than how people feel in our Earthly lives. There was absolutely nothing that worried me at all, like there almost always is in this life. Even if it is very little. Even thinking about the worst thing that ever happened to me was a totally peaceful thought. The one word that defines my experiences best is CONTENTMENT, except in my first dream when I saw something really bad occur on this side of heaven for me. And that's why I want you to do those things I recommended, because your experiences were very disturbing, and disturbing without you realizing the reasons for that. Some Bible prophets had disturbing communications from God, but the reasons for their disturbing feelings were revealed to them, by God.

My favorite Bible book is John, what's yours?

Indeed , very credible folks they are. This one even took photos of heaven he sold later. Fascinating stuff.

ive been shredding my fingernails since I was around 6 years old when I’m stressed out. So it’s been a long time. The dream occurred during a period of time where for a couple of months I’d finally stopped shredding my nails. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I started stressing out again and shredding them again. I go to church with my parents several times a year now. I think that sometimes God speaks to me in my dreams but not while awake. I think the first dream I talked about wasn’t as positive as I would have hoped but on the other hand I really struggled with forgiveness towards my mom and wasn’t a Christian at the time either, so it was probably what I needed to hear. Part of the reason I read the whole Bible was just to see if what I was told in the first dream lined up with scripture. I’m not trying to see the future anymore. Sometimes weird stuff still happens though.

For what it's worth - when God spoke at the Baptism of Jesus many in the crowd thought it had thundered and others thought that an angel had spoken.
It's your thread - (I suppose). You can run as tight a ship as you want.

The thread isn't likely to last as long though as if you were to allow people a little leeway.

Speaking for myself - a little give and take among the posters is always more appealing than getting preached at by the OP immediately after you share.

I am not boss of any thread just because I start one. And I never say posters cannot post what they want. But we can all make requests.

The short answer is yes, I have seen some amazing proof of God's existence and sometimes wonder if I would be such a strong believer, so thoroughly convinced if I had not seen. I have also had some miraculous events play out when it was seemingly impossible. Many people who have encountered the supernatural power of God probably do not speak of it because it seems very personal. I only wrote about mine outside of my close family circle when I had a severe medical problem and felt I could die. I decided that I did not want to take this knowledge to the grave with me without telling others. I actually struggled with this decision praying, asking God if it was ok to speak of the marvelous event I witnessed. I also discussed it with my mom who is now 92, because she too was there. She is still very active, drives, goes to church and all of that. I have often thought about how odd it is in the bible two witnesses are required. Probably not odd at all since God's word does not change. Anyway, here is the event, which my writing really does not do justice to how wondrous the sight truly was. God bless you all...Commentary on “The Light”

Hey... I can't speak for anyone else but for me...you never go by "experiences". We read the word and don't give a thought to how many YEARS had passed before that next chapter lol. Its faith in His word. Read that book and you believe or you don't. Doubt = you will get nothing from God. Faith..knowing He hears you..you will get what you asked /petitioned/prayed for. His will is His word.

As wonderful awesome are all the wonders He has shown me.. thats NOT why I believe or know Him. :) JESUS is real..more real then anyone you know on this earth. EACH one of us.. are special as if we are the only one. Treats us each different. Talk and KNOW He hears you.. Believe what He says

I agree with you on this point.

God always intervenes in our lives with power and He has always done that in the scripture.

i had to laugh after reading... well, actually while reading... your post. I was enjoying reading about my likeness to your brother, and as you were telling me about him, you told me he was a producer and director. Wow! I look like a producer and director.... and before my head could even start to swell, you continued ..... of pornographic movies.

Anyway, thank you for the laugh. As to your brother, I think in the awakening we are about to partake of, many in the world who have disdained the shallowness of current Christianity, will be drawn like moths to a flame.

Sadly, conversely, many in churches today.... and I mean many.... will simply not want to do what we are all called to do, to walk away from self, our old nature.

So there is much hope for your brother, despite his current state. We are told that the fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much. I will be glad to agree with you.

As to the rest of your kind reply, I am sorry that you had a bad experience on the other site. I have been posting the same message wrapped 100 different ways to this board, and with but a few exceptions, posters here are fair, tolerant and not mean spirited. I am glad your are here.

I am really in prayer right now as to stepping out in "full time" ministry. But the message of the new man, and the necessity of putting off our old man by faith is key to .... well, everything.

God is fixing to do His "quick work" on the earth, and we are about to be astounded at what real Christianity, abiding in the vine, looks like.... and FEELS like.

    blessings,

    Gideon

I was referring to teaching the Bible on websites. That's the only reason I offer comments on these sites. I used to teach the Bible to people in their homes, and on the stage in several churches, but I don't anymore.

For the past 11 years I've been a public school music teacher. But I wasn't referring to teaching music when I answered you. I meant teaching scripture. When we were young my brother and I used to perform together in bands. He was the drummer, and I was the guitarist, songwriter, and band leader in most of them. I quit in 1975 when I was 22 after I started studying the Bible. I stopped professionally performing to get away from people smoking pot.

You are correct. Many people will be surprised when Christ comes. Many Christians will. Christ even stated that in scripture. See Matthew chapter 25. But it doesn't mean connections to God will be over for all of them. For some yes, it will be. But Revelation 3:10 refers to a test or trial coming that will test everyone on Earth. In the scripture Christ did say he will spare some from it, but that's not my point. My point about it is that a test is not given for the purpose of failing all participants. And God does not send trials to destroy all experiencing them. That trial in Revelation will separate people, and many will come out of it as Christians, Revelation 7:14.

What do you mean by "personally contacted"? God sends messenger angels if He wants to "contact" us. Moses spoke with God: "Face to face". Other than Jesus, Moses was the only one. This is why the Torah the five books of Moses are so important.

With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. (Numbers 12:2)

    Deuteronomy 34:10
Since that time, no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John14:26)

Thank you for your kind reply. Yes, mine was very similar to this, that you have explained. I really wish I could go into detail, but I cannot. At least not yet. His timing after all. :yellowheart:

It was certainly an experience from God that I will never forget.

By personally contacted I mean personally contacted by the father, Son, or Holy Spirit. I do not mean any other type of contact, except possibly angelic.

    per·son·al·ly
    /ˈpərs(ə)nəlē/

    adverb

    • 1.with the personal presence or action of the individual specified; in person:"she stayed to thank O'Brien personally"synonyms in person, oneself
My request at the start of this thread also asked if there were miraculous revelations present giving proof of what happened. And I cited examples of what might not be proof, e.g. amazing coincidence, or what might be delusions.

    mi·rac·u·lous
    /məˈrakyələs/

    adjective

CONTACT-the state or condition of communicating or meeting

    ________________________________________________________________

I differ with your belief that God only contacted Moses. Just one example can prove that wrong. Read about the Revelation of Christ to Paul on his road to Damascus. That's just one example. Here is another-"While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown in terror." from Matthew chapter 17.

I contend there are thousands, maybe millions that God personally contacted.

" The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children." Romans 8:16

    Also form Acts chapter 2:

[In the last days, God says,

I will pour out My Spirit on all people.

Your sons and daughters will prophesy,

your young men will see visions,

your old men will dream dreams.

Even on My menservants and maidservants

I will pour out My Spirit in those days,

    and they will prophesy.]

When Christians are seeing visions, and having dreams, because God poured out his Spirit on them, or because God's Spirit testified to them, then it obviously is a different type of contact than a type some readers are bringing out on this thread by stating we just need to have faith in God's word, while his spirit will produce in us love , joy, peace, long suffering etc.; or saying, "I don't need to see a miracle."

The fact is God makes contacts and performs miracles before people he chooses to contact. He decides who he personally contacts, just like we do. When he does, the actual contact itself is miraculous, as that word is defined. It's my experience, through knowing scripture, and having personal experiences, that God doesn't ask people if they want him to contact them, or ask people if they will allow him to contact them before he does it. He is God. That makes the ideas some brought out that they don't need to see a miracle, or we only NEED to have faith in his WORD, absurd.
