Has anyone been through a long Dark Night of the Soul?

I went trough something like this for years and i don't think it was all my fault, it helps to toughen up ourselves and be less soft i think, especially in my case, there was always a voice that said 'God abandoned you' 'you are lost now' etc etc. but now God showed signs he is doing something in my life, and this is very encouraging, have faith i say.
