Hoping there is an increase of interest in Orthodoxy in Ireland.

True, but they are probably viewed as immigrant's church.

What about St. Gertrude of Nivelles? She is the patron of cats and today is her feast also.

I wore my green, shamrock tie yesterday.
It was good to hear Saint Patrick, Enlightener of Ireland in the commemorations.

We have a small, very connected, but growing contingent of folk in our parish with an interest in some of the pre-schism, western and/or Celtic Saints.

In 2005 I spent a couple of hours in the village of Cong ( Cong, County Mayo - Wikipedia ) where much of The Quiet Man was filmed. Beautiful countryside & not real touristy I guess because the movie is now rather old.

I saw that the Russian Orthodox Church added St. Patrick to their calendar, along with about a dozen other pre-schism western Saints including St. Genevieve, St. Alban, and St. Vincent.
