Name any freshman congress critter that has ever had anything at all voted on by the Senate at this stage of their career.

I really, really do not understand how people can look at what Trump did, the unprecendented way he rose to power, the poor decisions made by his opposition, and then ignore all that history and repeat the same mistakes. Here I agree... McConnell hides from everyone; AOC is hardly special in this regard.

She's proven, in a small way, that the American system of government is not yet completely broken... We the People can actually be represented by one of the people, and not the uberrich.
At the age of 29, she's become the GOP'S biggest obsession... unseating Obama, Clinton, and Pelosi.

She's also demonstrated the success of socialized housing by living rent-free in the Right's collective noggin.

And she still has at least a year and a half to go.

The reason that I am critical of AOC is that I feel she actually isn't that well versed on the issues and makes embarrassing comments -- as a 28 year old who is elected to Congress and spent a good part of time in University, right?

On the New Books Network you can hear grad students and young academics from time to time... It sounds as if the person speaking is a 55 year old with 25 years experience being a professor. But they are really just in their late twenties (and occasionally even in their mid-twenties).

I am hyper-critical of academics who don't sound smart... Why wouldn't I be hyper-critical of congressmen who don't sound smart?

name recognition, is not an accomplishment.

Especially when it is for saying stupid stuff.

She purposely thrusts herself into the lime light through ignorant statements and grandstanding and since her actions are indefensible, I guess the only defense is:

- they must be scared of her
- they must be sexist
- they must be racist
- why do you keep bringing her up.

My personal opinion. The only thing she has accomplished is feeding her ego and repeatedly making a fool of herself publicly.
