Hi Family,

Do you feel it is valuable to use interlinear, Septuagint or learn Greek? Why?

If not...why?

I have seen some posters say there is no point...do you believe this is true?

I've learned some things from people who understand greek, that you just can't learn with a strong's dictionary.

Yes.
The New Testament was largely written in Greek. Understanding the original language is beneficial for study. Additionally for me, it is helpful because the services in my parish are still about half in Greek.

Learning Greek, specifically Koine Greek, is definitely useful for gaining a deeper understanding of the New Testament. It's the language it was originally written in and we do lose a lot in translation.

Learn Koine. It's the NT language. Also helps to learn English as many modern Bible translations are in English.

The OT's original language was Hebrew, but the NT's was Greek.

The Greek is a pagan language, it was a translation of the holy language - the mother tongue.

Greek most certainly is not a Pagan language. How is a language "Pagan" anyway? That would be like calling Arabic Islamic because most Arabs are Muslims.

(I'm making fun of the Hebrew roots bunch).

No, the lost manuscripts of the NT were originally Hebrew. There's proof Matthew was written in Hebrew somewhere...

Oh. Well it certainly went over my head. Sarcasm really doesn't convey well over text.
