In 1973,I was just 19 years old. This song,by Earth,Wind, and Fire, entitled "Keep Your Head To The Sky" came out.I really needed to hear this song,in order for me to start feeling better about myself.
Here are the lyrics.

"Master told me one day
I'd find peace in every way,
but in search for the clue
wrong things I was bound to do

Keep my head to the sky
for the clouds to tell me why
As I grew .and with strenght
Master kept me as I repent

Keep your head to the sky
Keep your head to the sky

Gave me the will to be free
purpose to live is reality
Found myself never alone
changes come to make me strong

Step right up, be a man
You need faith to understand
so we're saying for you to hear
Keep your head in faith's atmosphere...

Keep your head to the sky
(Don't walk around, with your head hung down)
Keep your head to the sky"

Anyone remember the group Frampton was in BEFORE he went solo? It was Humble Pie with former Small Faces guitarist Steve Marriot.

This is from their 1971 "Rocking the Fillmore:"

There was so much great music in the two best decades for music, 60s and 70s, I could post a gazillion songs I like, but the previous post helped me narrow it down by causing me to think "what factoid might people enjoy knowing about Elton?" Well, I came to like this song more when he sang it live on an awards show, probably the Grammys. I learned it was arranged by the late Gene Page and I think it's the best arrangement of any of Elton's uptempo songs. There's a video of him doing it on Soul Train, years before the awards show, and it's worth looking into if you want to search for it. He played a unique see-thru glass piano. The sound here is kinda bright (they could have gotten a much better string sound), so I wouldn't listen to it with the slider more than half way up.

Good point.

Many 'classic/enduring'..songs/music were composed.
- During those days..
----
I was at the coffee shop..some years ago.
- & got into..conversation with young fellows.
They told me..
- "We like 1960's & 70's songs/music!"

I bought the sheet music. The main objective was to study his chord progressions, which are excellent. Anyone interested in learning piano pop tunes would be wise to add this to their repertoire.

I started listening to this thread from the beginning--there go the remaining scraps of my spare time :)--and thinking of what a simpler time it was. Then I remembered Viet Nam and the draft, and young men I knew wondering if they would have to go there.

The songs “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane and “Fortunate Son” by CCR remind me of Vietnam, but that may be getting off topic since both of those songs were released in the late 60’s and not the 70’s.
