I was a serious ( read that as rabid) Temptations fan . Saw them live at the Apollo. They pretty much sounded like they do on the records . Eddie would always be a little off key for the first two or three notes then he’d get it. Sorry to hear that Dennis had recently died RIP. I was trying to think of my favorite tempts song . You’re My Everything or All I Need

I did have a favorite 4 Tops song Shake Me Wake Me. I actually wore out the 45 listening to that one

I had always liked The Rolling Stones and a fav was Under my thumb even though it describes a seriously abusive relationship . Loved that marimba! The Stones and a lot of the British Invasion always had these songs about unpleasant little truths that no one was willing to face back then . I guess I liked them as a 10year old because of cynicism due to living in a chaotic abusive home. 50 years later I still like those songs.
I was always aware that art didn’t always show humans at their best.

There were many war protests songs in the late 60's. This song was released first by the Temptations but not a a single. Edwin Starr made it a hit single and it won a Grammy.

the Temptations had that on the Psychedelic Shack album and it’s on YouTube. Edwin Starrs version came out earlier Iirc . Everybody remembers this from the Iraq war too when it blew up the internet. Nobody wanted that war

Yes, as a kid I worked out what my age would be in the year 2000 and it seemed so distant and almost unreal. Now, it seems like the other day.
