A government “by the people” and “for the people” may not necessarily be good, but it’s not extremely bad either.

Because of checks and balances.

BUT

When a government is controlled by an evil religion, then government cannot help but be evil as well. An evil religion believes it’s on the side of “god” and is just “fighting for what is right”.

Therefore, such a controlled government begins to oppress and limit the rights of some of the people.

After this, it finds another group to oppress.

This form of government continues and cannot stop until it controls everyone and everything on all the earth.

Why? Because that’s the nature of evil. It’s appetite for domination cannot ever be satisfied.

Just general thoughts to spur conversation.

Doesn't this describe all governments that begin to justify their actions on morality rather than what is practical or wise? The Soviets believed they were on the side of good and therefore the horrible things they did were justified. Our Western governments are little different and they did themselves great evil during the World wars. America at the moment believes it is on the side of good and it's god, liberal democracy, does a number of reprehensible actions across the entire globe (namely invading nations to maintain it's hegemony and spread democracy).

It's odd that you seem to want to spare your preferred government rather than acknowledge all political authority is coercive and will be used in ways that are wrong. Liberal democracy is no different because it justifies itself on moral grounds and therefore looks down on non-liberal forms of government which spurs it to undermine any regime which rejects it. Liberal Democracies are not content with the world as it is now, they don't want a world with varying different forms of government, but seek global liberal hegemony.
