Anti-trust laws apparently....
They were given an exemption. It appears that ruling is based upon them being not about interstate commerce but more about sports exhibitions.
Well once they start threatening legislators with moving their investments....it's pretty hard to argue they aren't in the business of interstate commerce.
They didn't "threaten" to do anything -- they made a decision to move a sports exhibition from one location to another.
Had they threatened to leave Georgia unless some sort of concession had been made to them by several states, then an argument could be made for the bill that overlooks even the authors' explicit claims of its retaliatory nature.
They can move their money....and anti-trust laws can break the league apart and gut them financially.
Anything else?
Yes -- given that the bill has no hope in hades of actually passing, what's the point besides another petty GOP vendetta against someone who has displeased them personally?
