SPOILER ALERT
One of the last scenes of this movie always confuses me. It's where Will's friends come by in the morning to pick him up. They act surprised that he is not there, and his friend (Ben Affleck) has a knowing look on his face, based on their discussion in an earlier scene.
The confusing part is that they had just given him a car for his birthday, so that he could drive to his "new job." Right before that, he was talking with Robin Williams and telling him about his acceptance of a new job.
The confusing part is not only Ben Affleck's reaction, but the fact that they were even picking him up in the first place, since he had a car.
