WASHINGTON – A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that President Donald Trump cannot end an Obama administration program that protects undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children.

A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit agreed with a federal district judge's decision in January that Trump lacked the authority to eliminate the program – a proposal the president made last year in hopes of prodding Congress to act.

"Plaintiffs are likely to succeed on their claim that the rescission of DACA — at least as justified on this record — is arbitrary, capricious or otherwise not in accordance with law," the three-member panel said.

"In a world where the government can remove only a small percentage of the undocumented noncitizens present in this country in any year," the panel said, DACA lets it "devote much-needed resources to enforcement priorities such as threats to national security, rather than blameless and economically productive young people with clean criminal records."

The decision leaves in place for now the popular Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program known as DACA, which has protected more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants from deportation and enabled them to get work permits.

The court noted it was created because of the "cruelty and wastefulness of deporting productive young people to countries with which they have no ties."

Not a good week for Trump, it seems. Probably a really bad week for anyone working in the White House. More tantrums coming...

i care little either way .. but im wondering, are the SAME resources for aid afforded the poor and suffering that ARE already citizens ? or is such aid selective only to the undocumented. making it yet a further injustice to both

Ironically, DACA people are providing that aid for poor and suffering citizens. They are workers, students, and taxpayers.

Some are veterans. James Mattis has stepped up and declared that no one of these men and women in the military will be deported. Trump hasn't agreed, but I doubt if he's got the nerve to try it.

What does God say about strangers in your land?

When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

That doesn't seem like an unreasonable thing for Him to ask of you.

You'll have to ask "the arbitrary, capricious or otherwise not in accordance with law" Trump Administration - which gave over one trillion dollars in tax "relief" to the already super rich / is now attempting to drastically cut "resources for aid afforded the poor and suffering that ARE already citizens" in hopes of somehow addressing the trillion dollar deficit resulting out of that trillion dollar tax "relief" given to the already super wealthy.

not sure thats as a bad a thing as people paint .. the rich run very big business and are greed driven ..(yup evil-but not all) but in their greed they use their wealth to expand ,,, creating more jobs for the unemployed who want pay$ .. some for greed most for living off and feeding family clothes and housing etc . im not a rich man in the world standard i am rich beyond comprehension by Gods standard .but if you want ,in capatalism , to aid the poor ,you invest in those who are most able to do so . there is always a bigger picture i guess ..

?i never suggested otherwise . i just know many Christians in usa (yes evangelicals to be honest) think this era is headed to some Christian governed utopia and they could not be more wrong. the usa or what is left of it and Europe will be just as implicit in the beheading of the non submitting as the rest of the world -i was referring to the fact the the usa is not the kingdom of God ..it is not a Christian nation it is a nation with many Christians in it

That was the claim. But it didn't happen...

That said, the number of new jobs gained since passage of the Republican-backed tax bill in December 2017 is pretty similar in scale to those racked up by both President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump going back to 2010.

McConnell is correct on the number. From January to May 2018, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a net increase of 1.037 million jobs. That works out to about 207,000 more net jobs a month.

But rather than being a turnaround from weak to strong, that amount of job creation is roughly in line with the gains in each of the past nine years.

Here’s a chart showing the month-to-month job gains since the start of 2008.

Your mantra is outdated, and dying.

Around the world, technology contunes to rapidly replace millions of physical laborers.

Technology that is even able to reproduce itself, with very few workers running it, if any.

Your mantra is not only no outdated, but is the very fool's gold upon which Trump made all his false promises of jobs that will never return, to all those of his supporters who long ago chose a factory job over the higher education they looked down their noses at, and that they now all take issue with the Millennials for (for having gotten said higher education, with its way much higher paying jobs of the future).

Saw this first hand, years ago, while working in a factory, while I took a year off, before deciding on whether to go on to college, or not.

Overnight, one day, some new, seemingly insignificant technology, wiped out several thousand jobs in that factory alone.

Repeatedly asked by many a co-worker, what I might do were I to end up next to be let go of, I repeatedly stated 'I think I'll go off to college.'

Their response, one after another - 'you're one of those, huh...'

Later, I broke away from that and went off into my own thing.

Never regretted my decision that summer.

As for the obvious about far too many a Trump supporter?

Still believing your very mantra - the outdated notion that the wealthy cannot but create a job for you.

    Good luck with that.

The best he can say, is that the tax cut didn't mess up that which was already going on - yet.

lol i don't have a mantra ... but if tech is replacing labour why are the rich doing everything they can to bring in the tpp ... which would have standardised and lowered the wages. ? because manual labour is not being decreased it is being devalued .. but im a preacher of the gospel with my only income being what the lord has and does provide we dont even have any man made church organisations support us (they are too busy supporting thier own agenda) .so i know the Gospel of the lord Jesus is mans answer .. not politics . and i know that Christians who have any hope in politics are sorely deceived .
im not a trump supporter im not even american . i see all the kingdoms of the world (usa is one of those ) will be destroyed at the lords coming . i dont ever exclude the Gospel from ANY topic .

claims and claims and counter claims ..blah
i think on average it takes more then 3 years to establish a decent size business that employs 30 ..so longer for a larger one to employ more .in probable reality we often don't see the real effect of changes in governments until they a long gone .. we only see the number spin lol.
