Some of God's greatest gifts are the things the world never notices. Wild flowers are called 'weeds' majestic trees are seen as being a nuisance because they block the way for building new places or obstructing the view, the homeless are also seen as a nuisance and embarrassment to city politicians, not as human beings. The Bible is no longer seen as sacred but is a source of worry because it is not 'politically correct.
Wild flowers are beautiful works of nature, so are trees, homeless are human beings in great need of compassion, the Bible is God's holy word, and love, God's greatest gift, is replaced with lust, human romantic passion that is selfish and wild and has nothing to do with caring for the other person's needs above your own.
Love, mercy, forgiveness, justice, peace, hope, faith, wisdom, self-control, compassion, gentleness, prudence, kindness, purity and obedience are all Godly virtues, truly God's greatest gifts.
A hug from mom or dad, rocking a baby to sleep, teaching young children about the Bible, growing flowers in your garden, being happy to watch the flowers bloom in spring, petting and playing with a sweet pet, a little cat or dog, splashing in puddles after the rain and seeing the pretty rainbow, eating dessert, chocolate, cake, pie or ice cream, Going to church dressed up nice and singing the hymns, Reading a good book, reading the Bible, especially the poetic psalms and Song of Solomon. Watching a favorite movie.
God wants us to be happy. He doesn't just wan to to save us from our sins, make us born again, he wants to give us a good life, one that is full of joy and love, life and laughter. God's gifts are the simple things. His greatest gift is love.
