Phred brought up COVID, so I (who haven't been vaccinated, and don't intend to) will ask this of those who think I should be:

"Why are you afraid of me, if you've been vaccinated?"
  1. I am aware that vaccines do not offer 100% protection.
  2. I am aware that you could have an asymptomatic infection.
  3. Since you are unvaccinated you are at increased risk of infection. The more infections there are the more mutations occur. The more mutations occur the greater the chance of new, problematic variants arising.
  4. I am not afraid of you. I am frustrated by your sysematic disregard for the well being of your fellow humans and the way in which you employ ignorance (real or pretended) in support of your position.

4. I'm not afraid of you. I'm angry with you. Why are you so ignorant?
If exercising my right not to get vaccinated angers a person, then so be it.

You're not my daddy.

And for the record, I must have a LOT of people angry with me then, as I didn't get vaccinated against the Asian flu, Hong Kong flu, Swine flu, or any other flu.

Question: Would you fight for my right not to get vaccinated?

We are not physically afraid of you, but we are afraid for the attitude that your "what me worry" persona presents for humanity.
If you're being serious here, then I seriously think you're fear is misplaced.

That's pretty sad, if you ask me.

If you're being serious, then I hope you won't go around kicking your dog because of those who won't get vaccinated frustrating you.

Why wont you take the vaccine?
I'm from the old school of medicine.

I don't see a doctor, unless I absolutely have to.

My last family doctor dropped me because I hadn't been in his office in over 3½ years.

I see.

Selfishness it is.

No, but I would fight for your right to get educated.
Would I support your right to behave stupidly is another question. As with many of these things it depends on the danger the behavior presents to the greater society that makes our current mutual well being possible.

Wow -- just wow.

I haven't see my taxi driver lately either.

Shame on me!

Should I get a subscription to the Pacific Daily News as well? so I can keep up on these things?

Which is not to say that you will not expect all of the hard fought gains in medical science when you do go, as Viroptimus said, selfish, and he is a nihilist.

So I run out and get vaccinated against COVID.

Would that make you guys respect me in the morning?

What happens next? should I get vaccinated against tree bark? taotaomonas? rabies? geckos?

Should I start hugging trees and drop eating meat?

Should I give up the following:

1. gas-powered car
2. cement patio
3. glass windows
4. barbecue grill
5. fireplace
6. pop
7. CO2 extinguisher

... so tree huggers can think I'm cool as a cucumber?

Forget it -- ain't gonna happen.

Jesus told us to go to a physician on an as-needed basis, and I plan to do just that; despite what VirOptimus thinks.

He neither understands me, nor my standards.

Don't worry, you eventually will not be able to replace your gasoline powered car and you may be taxed to no end on the negative products that you buy, such as gasoline.

It is so odd that you resist the actions that someone that truly follows Jesus would do.

What do you call a "Christian" that does not follow Jesus?

Who knows. Perhaps you will be taxed one day for refusing vaccines. That only makes sense since one does put other people at risk when one does that.

No, but you could use the education that I would fight for your right to have and then you might understand the wisdom or sillyness of the items on your list.

Not a 'true' Christian, according to at least one recent poster with 'Christian' in their profile. I thought that particular judgement was against forum rules, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While the idea of supporting others is an oft stated concept in Christianity it is often limited to others who think like me.
