Another Saturday I feel blessed to have after a week of work. I read Genesis 1-2 until the seventh day God rested, he blessed the day and sanctified it for all the work he did was done. Even He who created everything, the heavens and the earth; all life from birds in the air to swarming living creatures in the sea, from living creatures on the earth to man in His image has an appreciation for rest. What makes rest so valuable is the work that comes before it, none have worked the wonder of God's creation (except the Son who built his Father's house and called His children to Him).
In the first chapter to the start of the second, Genesis 1-2 has it written certain things God done for creation. What He did was productive, meaningful and purposeful; all things God created were good and certain things even blessed. The light created in darkness then separating day and night, He placed the lights in the heavens for signs of seasons and days on earth. At night we continue to have the lesser light for us to see, the stars for us to be guided in the darkness. Also life itself from the earth atop it, vegetation seeded then grows bearing it's own seeds for future generations of it's kind and including trees too being fruitful. Not only does it bear life for itself but gives it not only for it's kind, but is plentiful and fruitful for other kinds of life like man and animal.
Thank God for His creation, else we wouldn't exist. Thank God for His Son, else we wouldn't have life with Him. Thank God for being our Creator and Father who has given so much and done more than most appreciate. May we in the Lord Jesus who is the image of Him lead us to him being His children, for every brother and sister to honor and love. Bless God who is good and the Lord who is with Him!
