No one wants to go to hell. If you have a conversation with people that reject Christianity they will say Hell is a myth. They refuse to believe such a place exist.

Unbelievers for whatever reason...I have probably heard them all refuse to yield to Jesus Christ. That does not mean they choose hell. In the mind of the unbeliever rejecting Jesus and choosing hell isn't the same thing.

Hell would be a paradise for a masochist, one supposes.
Sweet dreams are made of these.

It's unlikely that there are many that want either pain or torment, but that many cannot or will not understand that the fleshly things they now live for, and take joy in, will result in it.

No one would knowingly turn down the bliss of being united with their Creator, unless they were unable to conceive of such a thing, or were otherwise bamboozled(deceived) out of it. Why would the carnal-minded trade in the pleasures they can have right now, in this world, for a reward they may either have an inaccurate conception of, or that they think doesn't exist at all?

In order for the declared judgment and punishment to be just, it must be that many are willingly deceived, complicit; which is where that verse "Satan, the one deceiving the whole world" Rev 12:9 might come into play.

I don't believe this at all. That isn't a realistic depiction of Hell. I know lots of atheists who think they want to go to Hell because they see it as this big party where they're gonna get to be free of the religious nuts and free to do what they want. In reality, it's eternal torture.
I believe that, when the Judgement Day comes, many will be horror-struck to realize that they really are going to Hell and that it isn't a "screw you, God" party.

Those who are damned, are damned because they love sin more than they love God. They will not enjoy their damnation.

I’ve come to believe free will is a lie. I prayed the sinners prayer & was baptized. Tried cleaning my life up. But had no assurance, so I swallowed my pride and went forth & told my pastor that I wasn’t sure about my salvation. His advice was go home and pray about it. The next day he called & asked how I was doing, I told him that I thought I heard God say it was about Him not me, he agreed and left it at that. Didn’t take long for those feelings to come back, but I guess I was to prideful to go back again. I did go back 12 years later & told him I still wasn’t sure. He said well we will get down right here & pray. I was re-baptized & then entered a very dark fearful time. I felt as if the Holy Spirit was removed from (not from within but without). I know today that I never truly understood the gospel. Therefore I assume God never intended for me to understand until it was too late. You can’t choose something you cannot understand. If you’re chosen I envy you.

Everyone is a sinner. We're all tainted with the curse of Adam's sin. Christ and His finished work on the cross is what God Almighty chose as what was acceptable to reconcile mankind back to Him. We have repented when we put our faith in what He did. The Holy Spirit is the one who does the heart surgery. It's called sanctification. Christ stands before the Father and calls us righteous. He is now our Great High Priest, our Mediator and Intercessor. Think of Him as an attorney who stands before the Father and calls each believer righteous. His shed blood is the evidence.

You have conflated a great many things.

But one thing you have made very clear is that you do not feel that you are accepted of God. Not born again, not saved, not having the new heart, the new creation, not under the New Covenant.

Well guess what? Everyone who comes to Christ starts right there. That exact same spot.

God is real, and that includes God the Holy Spirit who is omnipresent. And His angels are real. That means they are really beside you right now as you read this text. God said "I am not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" 2 Peter 3:9.

Titus 1 said "God cannot lie".

Christ died a horrible death of supernatural torture on the cross that included the torment and suffering for each one of your sins. The very debt that you owe in the lake of fire - He paid and offers that payment on your behalf if only you will accept it.

That is a HUGE price that heaven pays to offer you the deal of a lifetime.

It's easy to choose death, to choose this world and all its trinkets, toys, glitter and movie/tv distraction. Like lemmings hypnotized to run right off the cliff. That is the "easy" choice. Just keep watching TV drink the world's drink and listen to the worlds music, news, tv etc. That's all you need to do.

The hard choice is the one in Romans 6. God will enable you to walk that walk and to make the choice. But you have to choose "up" instead of the easy snooze-all-the-way "down".

You have to choose to set your mind on things above - keep your eyes fixed on Christ - remain at the foot of the cross in prayer and worship. To surround yourself with the Word of God, speak often to God, read what He gives you to read instead of the world's fables. A hard choice. Just like jumping out of a burning building into the net below is a hard choice. Much easier to stay on that 3rd floor ledge and let the fire keep burning.

Start here - read one of the Gospels - spend a week going through one and praying as you go. If that is asking too much then consider reading this commentary on the life of Christ -
The Desire of Ages, by Ellen G. White. Table of Contents

You will be a born-again on fire Christian before you finish reading that book.

You can. Everyone understands at some level. A child can be taught that germs are bad and that cleanliness is necessary, without understanding the differences between kinds of pathogens and the vectors of transmission and pathogenesis. The kid only needs to understand filth versus cleanliness.

Everyone can understand God on some level. Some of the most theologically knowledgeable people I've ever met were heretics and heathen. Some of the most faithful only knew rudimentary ideas. The Trinity is widely accepted, here, but most people don't understand the concept.

Where does faith come from? Is it really from understanding, or is it a gift from God that surpasses all understanding?

How is it now too late for you to understand ?

Salvation is just about trusting Jesus to save you ... just like you'd trust a lifeguard to save you from drowning ...

I was in church 12 years before my crisis. I lost my mind, my husband took me to a Christian counselor & I spoke to multiple preachers. They all talked me into believing that I was saved. We left our Baptist Church and went non denomination, where it was all love. I became arrogant blaming all my spiritual problems on my previous Hell Fire and brimstone pastor. Twisted scripture against him. Got into wrong teaching. All the while not realizing how worldly me & my views were. Almost 12 years to the day I experienced another crisis & have been a zombie ever since.

You sound like you gotten all twisted up trying to follow various earthly leadership.

Being a Christian is all about following Jesus.

His teachings are easy enough to identify in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John).

You seem to think that following Jesus is complicated ... when it's really about just putting your hand in His hand and letting Him lead you. With Him in the lead, all of the stuff will sort itself out.

I had head knowledge & I believe with all my heart that Jesus is the Son of God. But I also believe that most likely I was created to be a vessel of destruction.

Jesus said that the gospel is so simple that even a child can understand. The only people who don't understand ... are those who don't wish to understand.

Why do you believe that you were created to be a vessel of destruction ? What is it that you believe you lack ?

Nobody wants to go to hell. They want to sin and go to heaven. Hell is a place of punishment and NOT a place people choose to go to.
