God Gave Everything

But everything IS yours, bound to the Spirit.

“All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.”

“Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours”

(John 17:10, 1 Corinthians 3:21)​

Such as it is isn’t generally known to the unaware, but to those who are makes it self-fulfilling (without having to turn to their reasoning).

If I found this truth to be a bit confusing, it would be a comfort to know that familiar statement of the Lord,

"But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'

(Matthew 9:13)

But most of all, God gave us the Son!

I desire love and compassion (even pity) and not a lack of love and sacrifices for that...

God LOVES mercy and justice for the oppressed, trampled on, and voiceless.

Reminds me of a verse that gives a synopsis of what is very dear to God's heart:

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" ~Micah 6:8

Right! Here, a tower to run to. I noticed these were not meant to act independently, esp ‘justly’. We know that man, with the flawed “turned everyone to his own way” nature he brings is first dependent upon God’s mercy and help to harness that imperfect nature.

As Paul said, "Oh wretched man that I am, ," But thank God that He has provided the means to ‘walk humbly with thy God’ in forgiveness and the power of His Spirit!

Such mercy, or 'compassion' as to aid the conscience.

When the question was raised why did He eat with tax collectors and sinners,

Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. , , 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' (Matthew 9:12, 13)​

"I will have mercy, and not sacrifice"; [Hos 6:6] which, if rightly understood, was sufficient to silence all their cavils and objections: and which words are to be taken, not in an absolute and unlimited sense” - Gill​

But the Master puts it to the reader that there are times when things require further investigating, that is all, such as knowing why we aren’t subject to the reasoning in the original post; “no man glory in men, For all things belong to you.”

What you posted above brings to mind what i just posted about David. He gave everything: his heart, mind, and spirit to the Lord, and it was demonstrated when he danced before the Lord with "all his might".
