No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. <-----> John 1:18
If we can see beyond the veil of Christ's flesh , we see God ; therefore worshipping Jesus in this wise is acceptable .
But if we yet can only see Jesus as a prophet , wise man , etc . then it appears quite wrong to worship him .
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Only Jesus has been given the capacity to declare the Fullness of God .
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: <-----> Colossians 2:9+10
But due to spiritual blindness and messiah envy , many can only see Jesus as a gifted , spiritual man , at best ; but to us who can perceive The Oneness of God and Christ , we can worship God as we behold Jesus , for we see The Father through the veil of his flesh .
This does not dispute that there are Father and Son , distinct from One Another ; but does recognize that Jesus Christ is The Father's Chosen , Anointed , and Empowered Vessel whereby He Declares Himself unto us .
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. <-----> Matthew 24:4+5
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. <-----> 2nd Corinthians 11:4
Therefore , we need to seek and find " the rock", which Jesus spoke of when Peter proclaimed His Identity.
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. <-----> Matthew 16:13-18
The rock = Personal Revelation from The Father declaring Who Jesus Is .
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. <-----> Matthew 11:27
It's a closed System , in order to keep the riff-raff out .
Which is why we're commanded to repent .
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. <-----> Matthew 4:17
Not that we can make ourselves to be good enough ; but that we refrain from continuing in that which is contrary to God and Christ's Spirit . For who can show themself to be sincere in their plea for Deliverance ? But they who are doing whatever is presently possible to be in agreement with the Nature of that Deliverance .
Good works can't earn Salvation ; but continued evil deeds can severely hamper our receiving of It .
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. <-----> John 3:16-21
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. <-----> Romans 13:10-14
For -
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. <-----> John 4:24
