  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You are saying: "God did not do (forgive) when Jesus asked God to forgive them", right?
Matthew 9:6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.
God and Christ are one, so God would do anything Christ wanted Him to do.

Through out the bible forgiveness is conditional upon repentance.
Can you show that these soldiers repented?

I am not saying repentance is not attached to forgiveness, but I would say God's forgiveness of people's sins comes before their repenting (going from bad to good behavior).

Now you are into the area of predestinations.

That God choose before creation those who were going to be saved.

I am talking about where we live in a sequencing of events.
I do not feel the unbelieving sinner has the power within themselves to truly "repent", but they can for continued "selfish" sinful reasons do different activities.

No one comes to God without God motivating them.

In order for us to be forgiven by God we have to repent.

The seed goes out to different soils (hearts), but the person has to prepare their own heart.
Your own actions will bring you to your senses (prodigal son) and at those points you make your choice, but it is not to be good or bad, but to wimp out, give up and surrender to your hated enemy with just the possibility of obtaining undeserved charity (forgiveness). With the acceptance of undeserved charity as pure charity you will be motivated to change (repent).
