  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am taking a couple classes, one of which has a brutal workload (accounting) as far as I am concerned, but my body isn't used to this type of routine, it's been awhile, and I'm not coping too well...rather I'm not coping...I have all of a sudden, in the past 2 days, gotten super duper hungry when I should not be. I probably should be puking on the amount I ate but instead I feel as if I don't even have a stomach. I hope this subsides. This "hunger" is killing me, please pray that I can get a grip on it. It's awful, thank you. (I am 100% positive that the "hunger" is from this)

Hello LB, My special friend. You are in my prayers for sure. If you ever need anything, and I can help, I will.

God bless and know you can do it. For He is within you. He is greater then anything. Remember satan likes to lie to us. He is Trying to still the Joy of our Lord.

But it is a choose to give up that Joy or Keep it.

He can't take it from us, We have to give it to him. That was a powerful message to me, not to long ago. Wow, when I learned that, Satan can't control me in that area anymore. But He tries in other areas now. I have to put him in his place. I have the power to stop him, For He who is greater than all things, Lives in me. I surrender my ways to Him, I surrender my life to the Lord daily and even sometimes several times. Then I know we are one.

Don't get me wrong, I struggle daily. But, God didn't say it would be easy. It wasn't easy for Jesus either. So I remember what Jesus has done for all sinners and it makes all things fall right into place.

I hope this helps my special friend forever.
You are and will be victorious in Christ Jesus,
Amen.

Love your friend and Sister in Christ,
Starr

Lord, help Lady Bug to learn how to handle stress in healtheir ways. Help her to relax and stay in the moment, to realize that she is just one person who can only do so much. Bring her relaxing music, scented candles, bubble baths, fragrant cups of herbal tea.

Some ways I try to destress include going to the fitness center pool during quiet times, lying back on my recliner and listening to peaceful music, scented candles, using the massage cushion while sitting on the recliner, sitting with a cup of tea.

Praying for you Ladybug ... :crossrc:

P.S. Just a side note: Are you drinking enough water? Sometimes when the body is thirsty it will simulate hunger. We don't know we are thirsty sometimes especially if we are drinking other beverages like juice or soda, and the body is crying for water. So, it will give hunger pangs and we mistake them for wanting food.

Drink lot's of water....it fills the tummy.
Also eat fiber.

Since fiber isn't digested it fills you - it's good for your system - and you don't get a whole lot of calories.

They say to eat bananas too because it is a fiber, it's low cal, it fills you, it helps you burn calories digesting it and its really good for you. Eat em for breakfast so you burn calories all day.

And i pray.

you're right guys I have not drunk much water these past few days, I just don't wanna have to go to the you-know-where during class, that's all. but you guys are right. I suppose I could find a way to drink a cumulative amount in a way that it works out but I am trying to figure it out. I don't have the strongest bladder (yuck) so when I'm in school, I get weary of drinking over a certain amount of water but you're right, you feel hungry when you don't drink enough, I am totally with you on that. I hate having to go to the restroom when the prof is talking b/c he could be giving key things that could be on the exam and the restroom isn't that close to one class. (why does everything have to be a burden)

I pray my rosary every day but that is starting to feel like a burden because there's a voice in my head saying that I'm supposed to be studying instead of praying, but isn't that the devil talking?

Hi Sweetie,
I'm glad to hear that you're taking some courses-- that's really awesome! When I started teaching I noticed I went from wanting to eat NOTHING the first weeks (gotta do as much work as I can, no time to eat kind of thinking) to OH MY I'm HUNGRY and eating whatever I can get my hands on.

I know that I eat because I'm stressed out and so I'll monitor myself during those times. Make sure you're drinking enough water and if you get sick of water, switch over to green tea. If you have a water bottle, figure out how much it holds and then hold yourself to drinking every day at least 64 oz. of the stuff. I hate plain water, so I mix some of the diet peach green tea mix into mine (very diluted too).

Also, limit yourself to fruits and veggies while snacking or during meal time. Right now (it's still breakfast mode for me) I would LOVE a breakfast sandwich with sausage, eggs, and cheese. Instead I'm being good and I had a cut up apple and a cup of coffee. For dinner, I put 1/2 a plate of salad or veggies and then take smaller portions of whatever else is being served that night. I tell myself that if I do finish the portion, I can have a second one if I want to. Usually I don't though because I'm filled up with the first one and if I don't see it on the plate, I'm not tempted to eat it. :)

If it gets really troublesome for me, I take a green tea dietary supplement-- green tea is known to curb appetite and stimulate metabolism. But really I just have to be aware of what I'm doing and what I'm putting into my body.

Not sure how your class is set up, but if you can make a friend in the class and just check with them after class if you missed anything important --or-- either talk to the professor after class or send him/her an email for clarification on any points.

If you can't, then I would suggest getting a voice recorder and taping the lectures. They aren't expensive and my professors never minded keeping the recorder up by where they sat/lectured, just get their permission before hand. If the teacher has a slideshow, they should be willing to email you a copy of it, same for any handouts. And if they complain about giving you a copy, talk to their dept head-- there's no reason to keep that resource away from you.

If you need to pee, you need to pee--- teachers and professors get that and won't hold it against you if you take 1 quick potty break.

I pray my rosary every day but that is starting to feel like a burden because there's a voice in my head saying that I'm supposed to be studying instead of praying, but isn't that the devil talking?

It is, don't listen to him. The Rosary brings you closer to God and Mary-- so of course he doesn't want you with your heavenly family. Sean and I have been praying the Rosary together online and its brought us closer to each other and to our heavenly family... keep doing the same.

Hi Lady, I feel you are stressed. That could be the root of the problem. As I'm into productivity (hey my blog is one of the top productivity blogs in Spanish -had to show off, sorry - ), I can reccomend you two books:

Getting Things Done

and

The Power of Less

(which you can get from any Library or shop) .
